Hello

I would like to know what is behind an OA license.
It's the first time I see this acronym.

If you know, I'm open to any information.

OA = downgrade

Microsoft has decided to subordinate downgrade rights for Windows XP Pro to the entire lifespan of Windows 7.

The Redmond firm likes to frequently remind us that Windows 7 is the fastest-selling operating system in Windows history. However, it is not easy to dispose of the past, not so much that of Windows Vista but that of Windows XP. The observation in companies is quite telling since 74% of PCs are still running on Windows XP.

With such a rate, Microsoft does not want to rush companies in their often costly desires to migrate to Windows 7 and plays the appeasement card by readjusting once again the downgrade rights (or retrogradation) applicable to OEM copies. These rights allow customers to replace a new version of Windows with an older edition without having to pay for both copies of the OS.

Hello,
I also have a Windows AO key written on one of my computers, but I want to redo this PC.
Does that mean I have to install Windows XP and then Windows 7 Pro?

Or can I recover the Windows 7 Pro CD and validate it with this key?

Thank you for your help.
