Chatroulette

Here it is. I logged onto chat roulette this morning. And well, like many guys, I "played with myself," let's say. Yes, I know it's pathetic! I didn't come across any minors (thankfully), but I got banned (reported) and now I'm anxious about my IP address and my anonymity not being preserved. What do you think? Could there be complaints for exhibitionism, or pornography? Are there risks of video dissemination or capture?

I won't do it again, but I'm going through a hard time emotionally and sexually... I think this "report" has served as a lesson!

As long as you are broadcasting your camera, it is possible that someone could capture it with appropriate software. As for tracking your IP, the site must have retained it, and perhaps you are added to a "ban list," which would prevent you from accessing the site.
Regarding your anonymity, only internet service providers can make the connection between IP and address (postal). They will only do that if requested through official and legal means. Therefore, we can be sure that if nobody has filed a complaint against you, this connection will not be made, and only your IP can be retained by Chatroulette (which doesn't benefit them, except to know that you received a "report" and possibly block your access to the site..).
If there is ever a complaint, they would need to find the corresponding "report" (and there must be hundreds or even thousands at the moment..), then trace back to the video (that no one will have saved) to be able to accuse you, and finally contact your service provider who will reveal your address. After that, the holder of the subscription will be contacted by "law enforcement." At every stage of the process, it is more or less subject to the goodwill of the people involved..

So overall, the only thing you risk is a warning when connecting to Chatroulette, or not being able to connect at all.

I hope I have answered your questions; if not, feel free to ask for clarification.

Sincerely.

Hi there
can you tell me how long Chatroulette keeps your IP when you get banned?
It’s been a month and I’m concerned about possible repercussions
bye

I want to clarify that I only "chatted" with two people (two men and one woman "in little clothing" as well) before I got banned.... I'm really anxious about the idea of finding a video capture or my IP address being shared because I'm in a relationship. I'm not proud of it; I'm actually quite disappointed and troubled by my behavior (even though I know deep down that there's nothing serious since it's between consenting adults...). I think I'm actually feeling a lot of guilt towards my girlfriend... So please don't judge me, I'm taking care of that myself....

Thank you very much for your reassuring responses. There’s no reason for anyone to file a complaint, but I was mainly worried about the dissemination of an unflattering video. You put my mind at ease...! Thank you very much.

The dissemination can happen if someone has taken a screenshot. I don't think it's very common, but even if someone did, and they share your video... They have nothing on your identity. And there are millions of videos circulating on the internet... For someone you know to come across yours... The probability is about as low as being abducted by aliens :)

Don't stress, it seems to me that when you get "banned" from a site, it stays on that site, period. And as mentioned earlier, AT WORST you risk not being able to connect to THAT site anymore, or just getting a warning, that's it.
It's clear that with the mass of information and pornographic images on this thing, you're just a speck in an ocean!
Conclusion: our sex will be our downfall....lol
