Hello,

For the past few days, I have been experiencing frequent disconnections. Below is the diagnosis:

warn FTP (passive): Error 12007 while connecting to ftp.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn HTTP: Error 12007 while connecting to www.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn FTP (active): Error 12007 while connecting to ftp.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn HTTPS: Error 12007 while connecting to www.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn HTTP: Error 12007 while connecting to www.hotmail.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn HTTPS: Error 12007 while connecting to www.passport.net: The server name or address could not be resolved
error Unable to establish an HTTP connection.
error Unable to establish an HTTPS connection.
error Unable to establish an FTP connection.

I have had a netbook since November and I had never had any issues before.

I have seen some posts, but they did not resolve my problem. If someone can help me.

Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 8.0

Good evening,

I found this for you regarding HTTP error 12007: Yes, you need to reset the lower layers of the IP protocol

Click on Start / Run
• In the Open field type: cmd and Enter
• In the window that opens, type the following command: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt and Enter
• Restart your computer

That should be enough.
Good luck.

I had the same problem with error 12007, so no internet connection. I followed the instructions you recommended, namely:
"Click on Start / Run
• In the Open field type: cmd and Enter
• In the window that opens, type the following command: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt and Enter
• Restart your computer "
Thank you so much, it works!

It may also be a malware (virus).

A big thank you. My problem was due to Malware Doctor. What a nasty mess.

Once again, thank you.

Good evening,

Thank you for your help, I just did the maneuver... if I don’t experience any disconnections by tomorrow evening, we can say that everything is back to normal :)

As for ConCernant or ConsternAnt, it wouldn’t have been Voltaire who could help me, but you could :D

Stay tuned for a few hours of testing

Thank you + + + Pikatout! Your path allowed me to solve my problem. I also spent several hours "messing around," checking the connections and cables (I even changed one that I thought was chewed or pinched by my cats - in the sense of domestic felines)

I also "messed around" for nothing with the technical service of my provider ... But since my wireless was working, on the other hand ... they told me that my old tower computer, which was causing the problem with this "error 12007," couldn't be suffering from the same router and/or modem ... It had to be "in situ"!

Hi, Canadian - Quebecer

It reminds me that I spent at least 2 hours researching to find this "remedy" in 2010 :))
