Hello,

I have Nero 8 and I can burn single-layer DVDs very well with Nero Recode, Nero Express, etc., but
whenever I try to burn DVD+R DL <<impossible disc="" at="" once="" function="">> no matter what I do.
My burner is a PHILIPS PBDV 1640P
I sent the error report to Nero. Their response was to update the drivers. That’s done.
The drivers are up to date.
I don’t understand anything anymore.
Does anyone have the same problems?
Is there a solution?

    Hello,

    I recommend you do 2 things:
    Update Nero 8 to the latest version 8.x.x.x

    If updating the burning software does not solve your problem, you should consider a firmware update for the burner.

    WARNING, a firmware update is risky; if the operation is interrupted, the burner is dead.
    A firmware update should be done with the burner empty and the tray closed.
    Be careful to get the firmware update from the official site.
    If the burner was supplied with a branded PC, for example, if your PC is an HP, then you must get the update from the PC manufacturer's website, HP.
    If you purchased your burner separately, then you need to download the firmware from the manufacturer's website.

    Was your burner supplied with your PC?
    If so, what is the brand and model of the PC?

      ...Change the brand of the discs or update the firmware (not the driver).

      With the Nero Info Tool, it's necessary to check if the type of disc is supported by the burner.

      If it doesn't work with another brand of disc, then it is possible that the burner is malfunctioning.

    Phew, it works. For the "disc at once" function to work with Nero 8:
    You need Nero 8.3.20.0 all
    For the Philips PBDV 1640 P burner
    Mandatory firmware Philips PBDV 1640 P B3.7 to download from the official site.
    After that, you can burn all types of DVD - & + R R+DL without any problem.

    I had updated the drivers recommended by Nero.
