Div "parent " ne tient pas compte du con

Bonjour,
J'ai un problème en css, je vous explique :

je réalise un site actuellement, la div "content" du site qui contient le texte principal, les images...
est imbriquée dans une autre div, qui elle sert uniquement a afficher un fond(ligne de pixel contenant un dégradé pour obtenir un effet flou sur les coté du site) or et c'est là que j'ai un soucis, la div qui contient la ligne de pixel ne s'adapte pas en fonction du contenu(je suis obligé de lui ajouter une hauteur afin d'afficher mon flou)

pouvez vous m'aider pleaseeeeeeeee

The architecture and design of Amani Beach Hotel is highly individual, with an Afro-Arabian style unique to the Swahili Coast, providing tranquillity, charm and character similar to the garden palaces of the past sultans of Zanzibar.<br /><br /> 	
		Ten years ago, when we were looking for a site to build a new hotel, we came across Amani Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand, peaceful, unspoiled, fringed with palm trees and gently lapped by the waters of the Indian Ocean.<br /> But what really attracted us to the site were the turtles (hawksbills, leatherbacks, green, oggerhead and olive ridleys) During the nesting season (November to January and from April to June) the beach was full of them.<br />Amani became well-known for this wonderful phenomenon and it attracted many nature lovers from Dar and elsewhere, eager to see this extraordinary event for themselves.<br /><br /> Some people came to Amani just to witness this special occasion.<br /><br />
      

The turtles are nesting in good numbers each year. We all hope they will continue to benefit from the protection from Sea Sense and the hotel.
