Hello everyone
Here I have a problem. I am on Windows XP Home Edition and I'm having trouble connecting to the internet. I cannot access the internet directly via Internet Explorer. In fact, the local network connection is faulty. A message appears: "Limited or no connectivity. You may not be able to access the internet. This problem occurs because the network has not assigned an address to the computer." Yet I am connected. I'm lost. What should I do?
Sincerely @+

Hello!
I've had the same problem several times; it's nothing too serious:
As the error message says, "No address is assigned to the computer." So, the best thing to do would be to assign one manually. To do this, go to "Network Favorites," "Show Network Connections," then select the faulty connection. Right-click on it, "Properties." In the "General" tab, select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)," then click on "Properties." Next, in the "General" tab, the radio button "Obtain an IP address automatically" should be checked.
Select "Use the following IP address" and then manually configure your IP address: for this, you need a specific info: if I understand correctly, the PC you are having the problem with connects to the Internet via another PC, right? If that's not the case, uh... well I can't help you, sorry!! Otherwise, for manual configuration, you need
the IP address of the PC that allows you to connect to the Internet. Oh, I almost forgot: this solution works if the network consists of only two PCs—I haven't tested it on a larger network!
Finally, as soon as you have retrieved the address in question, let me know on CCM.
To retrieve the IP address of a machine:
"Start," "Run," type "cmd." Then in the window that just opened, type "ipconfig." You will thus retrieve the IP address of the machine in question (next to "IP Address")
There you go, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
Hoping this will be helpful to you!

Thank you in advance.

I think it would be better if you started a new discussion, because, after all this time, Ean21 might not come here anymore, and with what you're writing, no one will be able to help you.
Bye.
