Hello,

I watched Avatar recently and since I want to learn their language, there’s a phrase I would like to know and since I don’t have the film I can’t figure out what it is. If anyone has any idea... It’s when Jake kills the kind of deer with his bow and he says a few phrases while thrusting the knife in it.

And I would like to know if there was a Na'vi/French dictionary because English is boring...

Thanks!

    I see you...

    Hello TTHX9
    I see you (polite form)

Here are Jake's words when he removes the arrow from the animal

    I see you my sister
I thank you for your assistance
    you join Eywa
but your body remains, to become a part of the people

    I see you my brother
I see you Brother (polite form)

    with
    I : I + l : ergative
    you : you/you + ti : accusative (so: "you")
see : see (in a spiritual sense) + ei : the particle that indicates "I-am-happy-to-do-this-thing"
my : which designates 'to whom you are speaking' => "Hello TTHX9" will be said "Kaltxì ma TTHX9"
brother : child of the same parents + an : the 'masculine' (thus "brother")

    I thank you

I thank you (here, we have "I make you thanks")

    with
    I : I + l : ergative
you : particle used in names
you : you/you + ru : the dative (particle that shows to whom one 'gives')
make : to do + ei : the particle that indicates "I-am-happy-to-do-this-thing"
    thank you : thank you

    you join Eywa

you join Eywa (in the sense "you are with Eywa")

    with
you : you/you + ru : the dative (particle that shows to whom one 'gives') + hu : the particle 'accompany/be with'
    Eywa : Eywa

but your body remains, to become a part of the people

But your body remains, to become a part of the people (Na'vi is the word for people)

    with
    But : but
remain : to stay + the : the perfective
body : body + your : the genitive (your, your, your...)
    become : to become
people : the people (the Na'vi)
    part : part/piece/portion

    I put a "Navi-French French-Navi Dictionary" there
Furthermore, Nuruhuine, has made an excellent "Na'vi for Dummies"

See you later, and may Eywa accompany you, my brother !

See you soon, and may Eywa accompany you, my brother !
