Port issue for azureus

Hello everyone ;-)

I'm on Mandriva.

I'm trying to install Azureus (Bittorrent client) on FC-1.
The port 6881 test fails: NAT error.

My connection is on LAN.

It's just a matter of adding 6881:tcp to the ports, but I'm a novice and I don't know how to do it.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,
it's not clear, are you on Mandriva or on Fedora??
Otherwise, you should know that Azureus is written in Java, which means you need to install a JSDK from Sun's website beforehand.

Hello, I have a problem since yesterday with Azureus Vuze; I've gone through all the topics without success because my issue is quite specific:
yesterday I started a download of 6.64 GB, I launched the download and everything went well, the file is downloading despite the yellow smiley that appeared from the start and is still there.
This morning, I woke up and noticed that 1.35 GB had been downloaded, but I'm not receiving anything anymore (I am still able to emit and send sources, though).

I'm sure the problem comes from my router and more specifically from the port because when I run the NAT/firewall test, it says that the port is closed. (I don't know much about my connection and I’m on Wi-Fi)

So if someone could tell me how to open a port that would be valid or if you know where this problem comes from, considering everything was fine yesterday (except for the yellow smiley), or if the problem could be something else.

Hoping you can help me,
have a good evening.

hi,

you need to go to the firewall in the control center
request the options
at the bottom there's an option to open the ports
you type 6881:tcp 6881:udp

and then it works like a charm!
enjoy

Hello,
hi everyone, I just downloaded Azureus and I'm downloading at 17 kB/s. I would like to go faster but I don't know how to do it. I've heard about routers (TCP ports). Thanks for helping me out a+++++++++++++++ and thanks again.

Open the ports in your router's firewall.

Hello,

How to open a port???
Before I moved, Azureus was working very well. I had to buy a Wi-Fi key for my desktop computer and since then, no connection to Azureus!!! I always get a NAT test failure despite my various attempts to change the port. The thing is, I don't know how to change a port in my firewall, which is Windows Firewall.

Could it be related to my Wi-Fi key (D-link DWA-110)? I have a Neufbox, could my ISP be blocking access?

Thank you in advance for your help, I am really a beginner and I don't want to mess everything up on my computer!!!

Emma

Hi
try going through port 6666. That one works and will allow you to get torrents from Specmedia. Additionally, you'll avoid prying eyes. During the Azureus assistant, even if the port test fails, don't worry about it, the connection is still working.

Hello,
I think a little check-up at the eye doctor would be in order:
I have Windows XP with no updates at all!!
Did you see which forum you are on?
It’s normal that you don’t have the Mandrake control center since it’s a Linux distribution!
Windows and Linux are totally different.

...and if you want help, you should specify your issue further because I don’t see it right now.

Do not use the original ports even if they work well because they are monitored by the ISP....

Change it to a random one above 15000, try the same one as me, 32345, it works great

Don't forget to open it in your router :)

Hi, I have a little problem with Azureus too. Until yesterday, I was able to download at a speed of up to 500 KB/s. But it told me that I had a problem: "unable to bind TCP incoming server socket to 6881 permission denied: listen." I would like to know what I should do.
I tested new ports, but each time it says: test impossible "error permission denied: connect"

What should I do? Thanks

Hello, I have a problem with Azureus. I don't understand why my downloads aren't progressing. I set the port to 32345 and it told me it was enabled, but the downloads aren't working.
If there's a way to get a bit of help, that would be nice. Thanks.

Hello, I downloaded Azureus, and it works well, but I'm being told to open ports and stuff on my router. Do I have to do that?? Because it's running pretty well (80-100kb for large files)
I'm on a Livebox Inventel with a theoretical 8mb
Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I installed Azureus_3.0.3.4 for Windows. I'm on Vista. My connection is good, it detects a number of clients, and an incoming traffic rule for Azureus is active in the firewall for both TCP and UDP protocols. I am not receiving any data, so I tried several ports: several between 49152 and 65534, 6881, 32345, etc. Every time I run a NAT/firewall test with Azureus, it fails, telling me that the ports must be closed... However, none of the other active incoming traffic rules specifically apply to these ports... on the other hand, a number of them apply to all ports.

Does this mean that on all the ports I tried, recommended by the Azureus online service and yourself, they were all unfortunately already in use??

I am at a loss, and I hope there is still someone on this forum, in which case I would be infiiiiiiinitely grateful to them.

Thank you in advance, Talin

Well, my problem remains the same, except that this morning I tried to download the torrent with uTorrent and it does exactly the same thing, except that it stops at 1.26 GB (19%) exactly the same percentage as with Vuze (which is actually strange: there is a 90 MB difference which represents 1.35% difference after all).

The problem might come from the torrent, but since it's unique, I can't try to download it again ... :s

Any response would be welcome, thanks.
