Samsung LED TV UE40B6000 turns off by itself

Question

Hello,

Big problem. Samsung LED TV UE40B6000 received since Friday and several times it has turned off suddenly.

We can turn it back on immediately, but as soon as we enter a menu after a few minutes, we can no longer exit, and we can't turn off the TV except by unplugging it.

The standby is not activated.

Do you have any solutions???

Hello everyone.
Here I have the same problem as you, I called customer service for the first time and they told me to do the update: it didn't work
I called a second time, they had me block the updates through TNT, that didn't work either.
On the third time, I called back and this time they have me reset the TV to factory settings, that doesn't work either.
And on the fourth time, a technician is supposed to come to my house to change a part in the TV.
So basically, they are really treating us like idiots.
My TV is not even 2 months old, so I find Samsung a bit lacking in customer service.
Don't let customer service push you around, ask for a technician right away or else you'll go through the same steps as I did.

I have the same issue, occasionally the TV turns off by itself
we turn it back on --> okay, but afterwards when we want to turn it off, it doesn't turn off, have to unplug it

also, my TV turned on by itself last night :s

I had exactly the same problem last night with mine bought on January 24, 2010. I hope it's nothing serious, I don't want to start dealing with customer service.

But anyway, I don't have an answer to this problem...

Hello again,

To cut any hesitation short, I contacted Samsung's customer service directly to inform them of the problem and ask if it was known or not, and I was advised to update the TV's firmware, as a new version was just uploaded to Samsung's website a few days ago.

I will test this tonight and let you know if the problem returns or has been resolved this way.

Here, I tried to update the firmware but it doesn't work, I follow the procedure exactly but I get the message "no upgrade file found"... I found on an English forum that others have had the same problem but I'm still looking for a solution.
Moral: I still haven't been able to test the update.

Is your TV connected to the network? If it has a network port, leave it on standby; the update should install itself.

Hello,   Personally, since I disabled the auto updates through the TNT, I no longer have this problem.   Give it a try, it doesn't cost anything.

Hi, did you properly decompress the file (downloaded from the Samsung website) onto your USB stick and then execute the file before plugging it into your TV?

Hello, same problem with the Samsung 7000, it was the motherboard that was faulty (TV 6 months old). They changed it for me in 1 hour. I went to an authorized repair shop and not to the big stores where they supposedly provide better customer service (it was terrible at Boulanger).
Now I'm looking for a solution to watch a Blu-ray on PS3 with a headset, which is not so simple either.

Just the same. I have to unplug it for 5 seconds to access the remote control's features. Only the volume and Program + / - buttons work. I have disabled the update, I'll see if it happens again.

I encountered the same problem twice in November and I got a refund for the TV from Samsung. I bought a 117 cm Philips LED and everything is fine; it didn’t cost me a penny due to a mistake made by the store where I bought it, and I don’t want to hear about Samsung for a TV anymore, not reliable enough for my taste!

For your information, it was not the memory card that was changed the first time, contrary to what I wrote above, but the power board and the motherboard if that's what we should call it. The second time, only the power board was changed due to random shutdowns. As a result, three weeks later, it happened again, which is why a refund was requested from Samsung.

The solution I found. I got a refund for that damn TV and instead I bought a 117 cm Philips LED with Ambi Light which works like a charm! I've never had any issues with Philips and now I have three at home with no malfunctions!

You need to contact the after-sales service of the store where you purchased it. I bought mine at Auchan, and they were the ones who processed the refund request with Samsung, and I received it shortly after for that store, which allowed me to buy the Philips TV I currently have.

I finally found the solution for myself, I don't know if it will work for you. Since I unplugged the HDMI cable, my TV no longer turns off by itself.
