Hello

1000Go = 212 DVDs (4.7Go)

1000Go = 1420 DivXs (700 Mo)

The answer will be complete as long as the question is well formulated. A catchy title / Software used / the circumstances of the breakdown / Attachments.... And if...! SMS I skip the question...!

If the goal of your reflection is to belittle people because they want to help but do it differently than you, that wasn't necessary, you know. Not everyone understands computers, and I would even say that sometimes the most logical things for some are completely unthinkable for others. 1 TB seems obvious to you, as it does for others, but if Caro is asking the question, it's not to boast about not knowing; if she's asking, it's because she really doesn't see.

It all depends on the size of each video. A DVD encoded in Xvid at 700MB for 2 hours is a movie with very average quality, and you could fit 1428 of those. On the other hand, if you want a DVD to be of decent quality, you should estimate the movie at 1400MB. So you could fit 714 of those. And so on. The larger your videos are but of good quality, the fewer you will be able to fit.

Hi

If you consider 700MB for a DivX movie, you divide 1000GB by 700MB... (rounding 700MB = 0.7GB)

1 DivX movie = 700 MB or 0.7 GB
1000/0.7=1428 (in theory).
In practice, it’s a little less because the 1 TB (1000 GB) hard drive won't actually have 1000 GB of free memory but a little less...

Yes, it may be obvious to us but not to beginners.

Just remember that you were a beginner once too.

Come on, no hard feelings...!

1 To = 931.322574 GiB.

Knowing that a movie, traditionally, is 700 GiB...
1,350 videos of about 700 GiB each.

If the two-hour film you’re talking about is larger, then it will be a little less. A little less also because we avoid filling a hard drive completely. Much less if the quality of the film in question is above average. Even less if we're talking about HD quality.

Read my post carefully, the first one...

You just have to calculate how many times 0.7 fits into 1000, it's basic arithmetic...

That she doesn't know that a movie "weighs" about 700MB and the relationship between 1000GB and 700MB I can understand, but I give her enough explanations...

To each his own, goodbye!

Sarface = False

Relate the question... it asks how many...

and you answer her how...

She wants to know how much it is......she probably doesn't care how we calculate it.

So make sure to relate the question well in turn.

For a contributing member..."CHATEAU".

To whom it may concern, hello again!

Thank you all for your responses, this way Caro won't even have to "use" her brain a little bit to simply calculate the result...

Or how to continue to dumb down people by doing all the work for them... Deplorable...

Well, I concede that to you, but I hadn't seen your post, since I was probably busy writing the first time.

My goals are to help and make people think by guiding them, not by giving them the ready-made answer, simply.

I find that nowadays there are too many people who no longer "tire" themselves to search or think a little or even simply read what has been written before.
Especially on forums like this one, but that's another debate.
(How many times do we not see people asking a question on a topic where it's enough to read the previous posts to find the answer?)

Rant over.
