Hello,
Good evening,
I need advice because I'm going to buy a steering wheel for Xbox for someone. Since the one I wanted is out of stock, I saw another model: Wireless steering wheel + bucket seat for PS2/PS3/Xbox 360 and PC BigBen. What do you think? Is it compatible with all games?
Thank you in advance... and good evening
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

Hello,
I bought one, the product is well-made and clever in terms of storage. However, the playability isn’t great (for now).

Let me explain:
Starting from the 0° point of the steering wheel, which corresponds to the wheels aligned with the car (Imagine that the steering wheel is a 360° circle and 0° corresponds to the wheels being straight, meaning aligned with the vehicle).
Well, I have a “dead zone” of +/-35° (left/right). This means that when you want to turn the wheel, for example, -5° to the left or +5° to the right, nothing happens until you reach that infamous 35°.
Once you reach the 36° point, it’s like making a sudden change in direction from 0° to 35°. The car then becomes unstable and uncontrollable.

Imagine in your own car making a sudden steering movement at 50 km/h... it will roll, and if your course correction is just as sudden, well, that will be an accident; you won’t even be able to “drift”....

So I sent a letter to Bigben support to shed some light on this. We'll see what they say...
For your information, there is a sensitivity slider on this type of equipment, but it is ineffective.

FYI: I use this product on PS3 and Need for Speed Shift

Best regards,

Hi, I wanted to answer your question Mika. Actually, it's better to buy a steering wheel with force feedback because you can adjust the sensitivity of your wheel; this is available on all consoles.

J'ai acheté un volant sans fil siège baquet pour PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 et PC. C'est pour ma 360 mais j'arrive pas à jouer avec Need for Speed Undercover. Qui peut me dire avec quels jeux je peux jouer ?

Hello Mika, I would like you to help me. I bought the steering wheel on Le Bon Coin, I tried it and it works, but I don't know how to do it. I need to insert the little black thing that blinks into the PS3 and wait for it to turn red. I go to GT Prologue but it doesn't work. I tried to go into the PlayStation settings, Bluetooth devices scanning is ongoing for 24 hours and still nothing. Can you please tell me from the beginning because I don't have the manual? Well, I have the little disc but it doesn't work. Thank you, Emmanuel. Best regards.

Hello Jacky,

My bad.. what I call the force return is that the steering wheel returns to the 0° position by itself.
Logically, if it’s not broken, it should do that.

As for the games you mentioned, I haven’t had the chance to test them. But there is a PRG button (on the left of the reset button) where you can reprogram the throttle, the brake pedal, and all the other control buttons. If you make a mistake, you can always reset and return to the factory settings and start over.

The procedure is in the manual.

For the sensitivity of the steering wheel, there is an adjustment slider on the right side of the steering wheel branch where the controller assignment diodes are. Set it to the lowest on min (this is also in the guide).

Otherwise, in your game, I hope you will have the option to assign percentages of reality, notably 0% at 0° (knowing that a steering wheel is a circle of 360°).

Honestly, I play a lot with it and it’s perfect, it’s true that I spent 2 days properly setting it up. The only "fault" is that I weigh 83kg and I get sore after 3 hours in the seat, which isn’t as generous as a car seat, but at €109 it’s a good deal.

Hoping I could help you

Best regards,

Hi Micka, sorry to bother you,
I just bought the Big Ben steering wheel with the seat and I don't understand the programming...
My pedals react to the X button for the accelerator and the square for the brake, whereas the accelerator is supposed to be R2 and the brake L2.
What should I do to make the pedals correspond to the buttons that should be used?
Thanks in advance and I'm sorry again for the inconvenience.

Hi Mika, I have the same joy as you but it doesn't work on F1 2010 on PC. What should I do?

Hello,
Sorry for not giving any news since my last post.
That said, the Big Ben is back in force. I also found the solution for the steering wheel precision with NFS Shift.

So there's a sensitivity slider on the steering wheel. Even setting the wheel to its maximum, the gameplay wasn't great under NSF... So in NFS, there's a gameplay option and control settings; in that section, there's a percentage for the wheel's center point. I set it to 0% and a sensitivity percentage to 40%; now it's super playable, and the wheel is simply magnificent and versatile (PS2, PS3, PC, Xbox).

Good evening Mika,
Can you shed some light on this for me? I just bought the Bigben steering wheel, but it's not working well. I tried it with Colin McRae Dirt and it's terrible, nothing works. On Gran Turismo Prologue, it's a bit better, but I have no force feedback and the gameplay is awful. I was having a lot more fun with my Logitech force feedback wheel on the PS2, but it doesn't work on the PS3. Can you give me some tips to get the force feedback working on the PS3?
Thanks

Hello Marlalf,

I don't quite understand your issue... The wheel is supposed to work on Xbox, wirelessly. For that, you need to connect the "dongle" from Bigben, which is in your pack, to the USB port of your Xbox.

On the side of this "dongle," there is a selector with three positions: PS3, PC, XBOX360. Set the selector to XBOX360.

Then you need to sync the adapter (the dongle) with the wheel. It should do this automatically, but if it doesn't, use the FC (Red) button on the dongle; it will blink rapidly. While it is blinking, press the Bigben button on the wheel (the central button).

PS: This is noted in the manual

Best regards

Hello,

I bought the steering wheel + bucket seat for Xbox/PS..
I connected it to Xbox, but I only have wireless controllers; I bought an adapter and it still doesn't work. I returned the steering wheel and they sent me another one, but I still have the same problem.

Does it absolutely require a wired controller??

Thank you

Yes, we absolutely need to file a complaint.

Well, thank you, but that's what we did... and the controller never connected. At Micromania, the seller told us that the wireless controller had to be connected by cable... and as a result, with or without a cable, the controller doesn't connect, so the only option left is to buy a wired controller... at the price of a bucket seat, it stings a bit when we already thought we had the necessary equipment!!

Yep

Given what you wrote, I took a look at the manual.

So let's go over it again.

1- Xbox off
2- On the Bigben dongle, set the selector to Xbox
3- Connect THE XBOX CONTROLLER to the front of the dongle (if you have the manual, it's page 14 with an illustration)
4- Turn on the Xbox
5- Turn on the steering wheel (switch to on)

Well, I'm not really familiar with the Xbox, but I hope for you that your wireless controller can be connected to the Xbox via a USB cable. (same principle as the PS3)

Best regards,

Well, I went to buy it at Videogame and the salesperson told me it doesn’t work with the 360 and that the indication on the box saying 360 is a big scam..
So I’m going to go for the official 360 wheel.

Do I need to turn on the controller myself or does it do it automatically?

You need a wired controller for the 360. Then, it must have been previously connected and recognized by the 360. You turn it off, reconnect your controller to your steering wheel and your steering wheel to the 360, and finally, you turn on the console.

As for me, the problem I have is that not all the buttons correspond. For example, in Forza, I can't use my F1 gear shift commands. I have to play with the circle and the square, which is not very practical...

Does anyone know how to configure it?

He is compatible with all racing games but it's useless, I just bought it and my pedal isn't working or sometimes it stops during my race.

Don't buy it because it's not good quality and it wears out very quickly.
