Corel Print House Magic 4 and WINDOWS7

For now, it's not working. Does anyone have a tip?

Print House 6, which worked wonderfully with Windows XP, no longer functions with Windows 7 Pro.
I have never managed to get it to work.
Could someone give me a tip?

Hello, I have the same problem with Corel Print House Magic as you do, especially since my XP hard drive just "burned out", so I find myself unable to use this Corel software that I love for its simplicity in creating all sorts of greeting cards and more.
The solution proposed to me would be to buy a new PC with Windows 7 and XP integrated. (DELL does this, but the price is considerable.) For now, I'm still weighing the pros and cons and I continue to look on all the forums for any alternative solution. Thank you to anyone who might have one and would pass it on.

The only viable solution is to install Virtual XP on Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate. This creates a virtual Win XP within your Windows 7 and it works. However, if you have Windows 7 Home, this option is not available. Virtual XP is available on microsoft.com

Otherwise, there is also VMware which offers another solution (virtual operating system emulator) but it is more complicated and paid.

1- In "All Programs:
a- Click on your Corel folder: Print House and Photo House will appear one below the other.
b- Right-click on the Properties of each product.
c- Check the box: Run this program in compatibility mode for:
The window below becomes editable via the arrow on the right.
2- Choose Windows 98
UNCHECK the box "Windows 98 is grayed out
Click on Apply then on OK
Your software will finally open.
***WARNING*** On Internet Explorer you may no longer have internet access as long as you are on "Windows 98.
I did not encounter the problem with Google
So: Uncheck W98 and switch back to W7 (the software may no longer open)

J'ai eu un certain succès en ouvrant Corel Print House 4 aujourd'hui -- 18 décembre 2015. Je fais fonctionner Windows 7 Édition Familiale Premium -- 64 bits. Hier, j'ai installé le programme à partir de mon disque 1 de l'édition Wizard of Oz. J'ai essayé de l'ouvrir -- sans succès. La petite fenêtre carrée (montrant Corel Print House -- Version 4 -- 1998, etc.) apparaissait puis disparaissait. J'ai essayé d'ouvrir un ancien fichier .CPH avec -- en cliquant sur le fichier dans son dossier -- sans succès. Aujourd'hui, j'ai cliqué sur : Démarrer -- Tous les programmes -- Corel Print House Magic 4. Ensuite, j'ai cliqué avec le bouton droit sur Corel Print House 4 et choisi "Résoudre les problèmes de compatibilité". J'ai d'abord essayé les paramètres recommandés -- qui voulaient exécuter le programme sous Windows XP (Service Pack 2) -- sans succès. J'ai cliqué sur Suivant. Ensuite : "Non, réessayez avec des paramètres différents". J'ai coché la case "Le programme fonctionnait dans des versions antérieures de Windows mais ne s'installe ni ne s'exécute maintenant." Suivant. J'ai choisi "Windows 98 / Windows ME." J'ai cliqué sur Suivant. Puis j'ai cliqué sur "Démarrer le programme". Il a démarré, mais de nombreuses commandes étaient grises. J'ai cliqué sur "Ouvrir un projet existant". "Mes projets" était sélectionné (avec un petit cercle noir). J'ai cliqué sur Suivant en bas. J'ai pu ouvrir quatre petites "leçons" qui accompagnaient le programme. Mais je n'ai pas pu ouvrir mes propres fichiers CPH ! Ensuite, j'ai eu une idée. J'ai cliqué sur Démarrer -- Ordinateur -- Lecteur C -- Programme Files (x86) -- Corel -- Print House Magic 4. Là, j'ai vu un dossier appelé "Mes projets". Je l'ai ouvert et trouvé les quatre petites "leçons" de Corel. Tout ce que j'avais à faire maintenant était de copier mes fichiers dans le dossier "Mes projets" de Corel, ce que j'ai fait. Eh bien, au début, je pouvais ouvrir mes fichiers CPH, mais je ne pouvais rien en faire. J'ai essayé d'appuyer sur CTRL et IMPRESSION ÉCRAN en même temps, et de coller cette capture d'écran dans Windows Paint. Ça a fonctionné -- je pouvais recadrer l'image et la sauvegarder en tant que fichier jpg. Mais il semblait de faible qualité. Une dernière astuce. Je suis retourné dans le dossier "Mes projets" et j'ai cliqué sur l'un des fichiers CPH. Il s'est ouvert -- et soudain, Corel Print House a fleuri. Toutes les commandes étaient maintenant disponibles. J'ai pu sauvegarder mes fichiers CPH en tant que JPG. Sur l'écran "Exportation d'image bitmap :", j'ai choisi "Couleur CMJN (32 bits)" et j'ai choisi "300 dpi". Lorsque vous aurez un moment, sur cet écran de compatibilité du programme, cliquez sur Suivant, puis choisissez "Oui, enregistrer ces paramètres pour ce programme." J'espère que cela aidera.

Hello, I also encountered this problem and I had given up on the product and even thrown away the installation CDs. With the pressure from my wife who wanted to recover projects that were dear to her, I set out to find the product and finally found the upgraded version "Corel Print House Magic 5". => Systematic crashes on launch. I tried compatibility modes and finally, it works quite well with the "Windows98" mode (on Windows 7). You can reopen and modify old projects, but the fonts may be lost (it's possible to download them online and reinstall). To open a project, you have to go through "File/Open", double-clicking the file in the explorer leads to a crash. Good luck. FranckSissou.
