Faulty jack socket?

I'm really annoyed because it's quite recent...
It's really strange because the jack stopped working overnight... If no one has any solutions then I'm going to send it to customer service.

No, there is no icon for my headset =/. (even when selecting "show disabled and disconnected devices")
But for your information, for the other one, I had to go through "playback devices" to set up my microphone (which is integrated into the headset) and I don't remember seeing a "headset" icon either when it worked perfectly.

Oh! I just installed "Realtek Audio Manager" and when I plug in my headset, sound comes out of both the speakers AND the headset. But the sound coming from the headset is really bad... the same quality as my speakers, but it's always been like that, so no issues there.

either the jack plug is dead, or an electrical component is. The drivers don't come into play at this level.

Well, before he makes you reinstall all the drivers available online, if you have a Linux live CD, try it with that: if it doesn't work, you can be sure it's not your drivers or Windows. In that case, if it's not software, it's hardware, and you will return the PC to the customer service.
