The cursor moves back while typing

HP510 -

Hello,

I have an HP 510 that was formatted not long ago, and since then I've been having an issue with the cursor jumping back while typing in Word or elsewhere. After reading the responses already provided for this problem, it seems that I need to disable the "tap" option on the touchpad.

The problem is that in the indicated paths: Control Panel --> Mouse --> I don't have a tap tab, and I can't find the way to disable this option.

Believe me, I've looked thoroughly before submitting this question.

I have Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 Service Pack 3
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.5.3

Hello,

Check that the pointing device is not disabled in the driver.
Click on Start, point to Settings, and then click on Control Panel.
Note:
If you are using Windows XP and the Windows XP Start menu, click on Start, then on Control Panel. There is no Settings step when using this menu.
Click on Mouse.
Note:
Depending on the version of the driver, the option to enable/disable the pointing device will be found on one of the following tabs:
Device Select
Device Settings
Touch
Find the option to disable the device and select it.
Click on Apply, then on OK. (You may need to restart the system before the device is fully disabled.)
