Hello,

I have a small problem starting my PC from time to time ERROR 0200:Failure Fixed Disk 0

The disk has been tested and works very well on another PC

This might be due to an IDE connection issue between the motherboard and the disk, the motherboard is only 4 months old, I bought it online from brakstar

Has anyone had the same problem?

I found this on another site, could the issue be related? https://www.clubic.com/forum/t/probleme-disque-dur-sur-port-ide/281066

Thank you
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

    Thank you for your reply,
I just logged in, I haven't had much time lately,
I will do that for the memory sticks, thanks for the information,
during a crash I was able to gather more information: my motherboard is a Phoenix

here's what shows up on the screen:

    Phoenix Trusted Core (tm) NB
    Copyright 1985-2005 Phoenix

    All rights Reserved
    System BIOS version V3.13
VGA BIOS version ATI UMA V008.050.017.000.18675
CPU Type AMD Turion (tm) 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-50
    640K System RAM Passed
    1750M Extended RAM Passed

    Video BIOS shadowed
    Fixed Disk 0: SAMSUNGHM1v0HC' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' (there are these kinds of apostrophes)
    Mouse initialized
    ERROR
    0200
Press F1 to resume, F2 to setup

there's the screen, maybe this can help you, for my part it doesn't really make sense to me, pressing F1 doesn't solve the issue
    Thank you

      Hello
you need to restart your computer (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) at the startup, click several times on Delete (despite the beeps you must not stop) and don't forget to insert the Windows installation CD into the computer.

The problem comes from the ATI SB460 Chipset. It's a BGA chip that is soldered or rather brazed onto the PCB. Due to its rigidity with the PCB, the inevitable deformations of the plastic casing detach the chip. It’s enough to apply pressure to the center of the Chipset and no more beeping, the HDD is recognized. This is indisputably a manufacturing defect of the motherboards. Well done ACER.
It is irreparable; I mean it is impossible to solder the contacts, a reflow oven is required, etc. So the solution is to apply constant pressure on the chip by cutting for example a piece of school eraser and inserting it between the case and the chip. It should hold as long as we do not stress the plastic too much or until someone finds a more permanent solution.
