Hello everyone
I’m presenting my problem
I have a Tvix 250Go for a while, I also have a small 200Go hard drive next to it for connections. I sometimes exchange hard drives with the Tvix.
One day, when I transferred one disk for another, I received this message appearing on the screen: "mounting on the hard disk drive was failed!!!!" followed by "please check cable connection, partition and format setting."
I’d like to specify that I tried connecting it to the PC, the Tvix, there is indeed a connection sound but nothing appears.
I used my second hard drive to check, but it’s the same in both situations.
I even checked with manufacturers’ software to see if the disks had any problems, but they have none!
I tried on another PC and it’s the same, my hard drives don’t appear through the Tvix.
I even tried formatting one of the hard drives, but nothing works.
And if I use the Tvix firmware upgrade method, the screen stays black and the error message does not appear.
I want to emphasize that these disks work perfectly, I tested them as external drives (USB rack) and they appear!
So it’s strange that this happened all of a sudden.
If you have any ideas, thank you for helping me.

Hello, I've been trying to connect my TViX M5000A to the network for two days! Nothing works. Everything is fine with USB detection, writing, deleting... but no matter what I do, I can't find it on the network. I've tried both static and DHCP without success. If anyone has any ideas, THANKS. Hervé
hello
so go to "start" then "control panel" then "administrative tools" then "computer management" in the right window "storage" and finally "disk management"....
Your tvix must be connected to the computer. You will locate your Tvix hard drive in the list, then right-click and format.....

Hello,
Actually, I've been having the same issue since this evening, namely that the TVIX no longer appears on the PC and I get the message "Hard disk mounting drive failed..." on the TV.
I say the same issue except that due to problems with my PC, all my life is on the TVIX....and so I don't want to format it and lose all the information that is on the TVIX (you get my point!).
So is there another solution for my TVIX to be "recognized" again by my PC so that I can recover all my information (photos, videos...)????
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
I believe I have solved the network issue.
In my case, I'm using a TViX HD M-4000PA, which is pretty much the same as the 5000.
It's definitely not a firmware issue, as I tested with 2.1.0, 2.1.4, and currently 2.2.0.
Personally, I use a simple D-Link DI-604 router (I have two PCs and the TViX 4000 connected to it).
I checked, and even with the Windows firewall enabled, everything works; nothing is blocked.
I'm configured for automatic DHCP.
You just need to enter the network settings on the TViX, namely:
You go into the TViX's "setup" menu and you'll see appear:
Network Drive 1: Slow mode (Samba)
Network Drive 2: Slow mode (Samba)
Network Drive 3: Slow mode (Samba)
Network Drive 4: Slow mode (Samba)
All you need to do is fill in "Network Drive 1" with the name of the file you shared on your PC (tvixhd1) and the IP address of your PC, and you're good to go.
I even added two external hard drives on Network Drives 1 and 2 that are directly connected to my PC, and I can access the entire folder structure.

Hello, I recently bought the same DVICO as you after a first return for warranty service, then an exchange, and I am currently facing the same issue without having had the pleasure of trying this crap. I apologize for the rudeness, but I can’t take it anymore; it’s been 2 months that this has been going on. So if you have found the solution for me to finally enjoy it, thank you from the bottom of my heart for sending me the solution by email.
Hello, thank you for replying. The Tvix 5000 A is well recognized on the computer (PC with XP 3) where I can find movies, photos, and music, but once connected to the TV, it does not find any movies and tells me that it cannot connect to the drive. Thank you again if you find a solution to my problem.
hi
I just bought a 160 Go tvix too
it was working very well until I tried to update the firmware
The procedure went very well, but upon restarting, I got the same message as you on the TV. "please check cable connection, partition and format setting."
How do I reset the tvix? There is no CD provided with it ...
What should I do?
thanks in advance

So in my case, it's actually the IDE cable that goes to the hard drive that was cut by 1 cm (likely due to a mishap when removing the hard drive).
There you go
so it's back to customer service.

I also have the same problem with TVIX 250 Go for MAC, after the firmware update: message check cables, format or partition... Has anyone found a solution? Thank you
Hi,
happy owner of a tivx, at least until an hour ago.
When I tried to use it earlier, disaster struck...
The symptoms are the same as yours... with a 2-year gap...
What did you do after receiving the message: "mounting on the hard disk drive was failed!!!!" followed by "please check cable connection, partition, and format setting."
I don't see any responses from the forum???
My issues are the same as yours, so your solution should work for me...
Thanks

Hi,
I've had my tvix for 2 years and since today, I can't connect it to my PC. TV connection is fine.
I noticed some USB recognition issues with the latest firmware (2.02). I'm going to try disassembling it to see if the USB is okay and especially connect my HDD to my PC via IDE to reinstall a previous firmware. Fingers crossed....

Hello
my problem is that my original hard drive works fine and I wanted to replace it with a 500GB one, and now I find myself in the same situation with the error message: "mounting on the hard disk drive was failed!!!!" followed by "please check cable connection, partition and format setting."
however, there is no problem with the PC, I changed the small jumpers (slave, master, cable detect) but nothing, I even reformatted it.
If anyone has a solution

Well, it's the same battle.
I just bought the Tvix M-3100 U tonight.
When I plugged the thing into the TV, I got the message:
"please check cable connection, partition and format setting."
Well, I think it's normal since it's brand new.
I run to my PC to format it.
My PC detects a new device connecting via USB, but the disk doesn't appear in my computer.
So, I try to update the firmware, even though I don't know if I already have the right one.
The manual mentions downloading a zip file from the Tivx website, a zip containing two files: "flash.bin and tvixfw.bin."
When I unzip it, I actually only get one file: "tvix_2.0.5_pal_fre.fwp."
Where are we supposed to put the file? It's not mentioned anywhere. Anyway, I don't have the right ones.
In summary, to format, you have to update the firmware, and to update the firmware, you have to format.
That's great.
Does anyone have any ideas before I return this piece of crap where I bought it?

Hello,
you just need to right-click on "This PC". Go to "Manage" and then to the "Disk" section. This is where you need to declare your disk; you can format it directly from this place, and it will then be recognized by your system.
I've had one for almost a year, it's very good equipment. The only downside is that I've lost the remote and I can't find another one :(

The site is well made, very clear, thank you, I will keep it in mind for future use. But I had already formatted the disk on my computer, it’s when I plug it into the TV that the message "mounting on the hard disk drive was failed!!! Please check cable connection partition and format setting" appears... I read everything I could on different forums, I can't find any explanation...
Hello everyone
can someone describe in detail, if possible, how to connect the TViX 4000
to the network? Its manual talks about it vaguely and it’s not
sufficient.
thanks in advance

Hi guys
how to connect the TVix 4000 to the TV while keeping the
USB cable connected to the computer.
It's annoying to keep removing and reconnecting it
it was smarter with the 3100 which had a button on the
remote to switch between USB or TV
thanks for responding

Hello,
Having the same problem with the connection of the TVIX to my PC, I followed the advice from previous messages, but once in "Disk Management", there is no recognition of the TVIX disk, thus no possibility to format it.
I only see two files appearing: BACKUP and HDD (C:).
Can someone help me?
Thank you very much in advance!!!

Hello,
I also have the same problem with Windows Vista on my PC and Windows WP on my portable.
In the disk management tool, my M3100 does not appear.
To be honest, when I turn it on, nothing happens on the PC, unlike what happens with the other external drives I’ve already plugged into USB 2.
Yet I just came from the customer service at Surcouf where the drive was detected without any issues and they even transferred a movie for me.
I feel like nothing is happening on the USB side.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thank you all.

Hi everyone,
I just bought a tvix 4000 as well. I tried to format it by following the settings panel method in computer management. In the volumes, I have C, D, and 2 volumes with unknown partition: one called RECOVERY (size 4.14 GB), which I suppose is the tvix, and another of 94 MB. If I right-click on recovery, it offers me to delete the partition but not to create one!!! What should I do??? Is there something I need to download first??
Thank you for your help!
