Hello, I have a MBK Ovetto 100 fitted with a 124cc MALOSSI cylinder, which runs very well ;)
But today I would like to change its carburetion, so I bought a Dell Orto 25Ø carburetor with a MALOSSI manifold, etc.
My problem is that the scooter, once the 25Ø carburetor is mounted, is impossible to start; the spark plug is always flooded. What should I do????

Hi,
I'm reaching out because I have the same scooter but, like you, I'm having a lot of difficulties finding information about it. Mine is stock, has 1700 km (model 2001), and is completely original (catalytic exhaust) and reaches a mere 70 km/h!!! (I think there's an issue). I've checked the clutch and found no signs of restriction. It runs smoothly and accelerates well up to its maximum speed. Can you give me a bit of guidance on other restrictions that might not be found? The exhaust is original and I haven't found any washer to remove at its inlet. Regarding your exhaust, is it specific to the Ovetto 100 or can 50 exhausts fit on it? I find very few online shops offering items for this scooter, if you have any addresses, I'm interested. Last question: what is the size of the stock jet on it?
Thanks.-
For my part, I ordered all my parts on Let from Maxiscoot; they are good and not too expensive.
I've had the scooter since 2004, and it was my wife who used it from time to time, but still 75 km/h at full throttle. So two months ago, I decided to review all that, so the email I sent earlier corresponds to all the parts purchased specifically for 100 cm³. But be careful, if you go to the site I'm talking about, you have the Ovetto 2T 100, and then two choices; choose the model for your year. Otherwise, there is a hotline from Monday to Friday. Personally, I recommend changing your exhaust; you can take the Leovinci ZX in 100, but be careful to derestrict it. Don’t do like me and twist the exhaust's mounting bracket, breaking all the exhaust screws, hence the acquisition of the kit. There is only the restriction at the inlet of the exhaust, not at the cartridge level; for the Leovinci, just for the info, there is no restriction on the 100.
Regarding settings, the rollers come with the exhaust, a 85 main jet, flat gasket, and exhaust sealant, and already your scooter will regain a bit of the character of a 100. I’m almost 30 years old, and as a kid, I rode a moped and on a 50 I could reach 110, so for my part, there is still a little problem with the Ovetto given everything that is said on the forums and the tests that give it a top speed of 91 km/h. Anyway, with this modification, you'll regain that performance. Take the chrome exhaust if you can, plus it is homologated. Me with a Multivar variator, 11g rollers, a top performance belt, and a 85 jet, I reached 110. After that, I don't know; I'm waiting to receive my part, but I know there are guys with Nitro 100s and just an exhaust reaching 120; whether it's myth or reality, anyway, good luck and be careful on the road. See you soon!

I own a 100 Ovetto that I’m tuning with a lot of setup troubles. I have a Malossi Multivar variator with 10g rollers, a Top Performances belt, a yellow Malossi clutch spring, an 85 main jet with the stock carburetor, and I'm waiting to receive a Malossi 115 cast cylinder. I'm struggling to find a lot of information for tuning this scooter. I also bought a derestricted Leovinci ZX. If you could tell me what main jet you have for your kit and the weight of your rollers, it would be very helpful, as well as whether there’s a long break-in period for this type of cylinder, since the guy I ordered from mentioned around 100 km. What speed have you reached? Best regards, Seb.

Good evening,
Thank you for the link. Before investing in a pot, I would like to be sure that there are no more restrictions on the scooter.
I was talking about the one at the variator (washer), but are there any others?
Thank you in advance. -
The variator spacer on the 100 is a shim placed on the crankshaft right before the variator; it normally has a thickness of 5 to 6 mm and allows for the proper functioning of the variator. It is not a collar; on the 100 version, you have no collar, nor pot, nor anything at all, much to my surprise, confirmed by MBK. By the way, the stock jet, if I remember correctly, is a 70 with a 21 mm TK carburetor. My model of the Ovetto is from 2004. If you need advice, don't hesitate.

Thanks for the info,
In the meantime, I took apart the carburetor bowl and checked mine, it's a 76. I think I'm going to try a bigger jet first, because at full throttle my Ovetto has some cuts, and you can feel that something isn't sufficient (the fuel is coming in well, the filter and tank have been checked and are clean), the spark plug is original (1600 km), so that's what I see. Plus, while browsing the internet, I've realized that some 50cc bikes are using huge jets even though they mainly have 14-15 mm carbs.
Have you tried installing a bigger jet without changing the exhaust?
Thanks.-
For my part, I've finished the engine prep, it's running well with a Malossi 115 kit, a 115 jet, a Multivar variator with 10 and 11-gram rollers, a Top Perf reinforced belt, and a B9HS spark plug. As for the exhaust, since it kept breaking, my brother-in-law gave me a tip, and for now, it's holding: for the exhaust bolt, use a 6 washer, an 8 spring, a grooved washer, and then screw everything together.
For your jet, you can increase it by 5s, but when you change it, check the color of your spark plug. I’m not sure if that’s the issue—it might be that your rings are worn or simply that your carburetor is gummed up. Keep me updated. Tchuss!

I just thought of something. Set your injector to 80, not more. Check your needle valve located behind the injector to take it apart with a screwdriver. Tap it once the slide is removed and take it out, then blow it out with compressed air. Another thing, you can adjust the needle of the slide for a richer mix. Also, at the throttle cable near the carb, there's a kind of screw that you can tighten or loosen. The more you tighten it towards the carb, the faster your throttle response will be, providing more acceleration. The more you loosen it, the less you'll pull at the top. The best position is around the middle.

Hi,
I increased my jet (from 76 to 80) and reset the carburetion. Now it accelerates really well but I haven't gained anything in top speed. The only difference is that going downhill it accepts going above, which wasn't the case before. Until now, it had cut-offs, but I dug a bit by calling around and my spark plug gap wasn't sufficient (it needs to be 1 mm between the electrodes for the original spark plug).
I also confirmed with two major MBK dealers that the Ovetto 100 has no factory restriction.
70-80 km/h is the maximum speed this machine can reach (according to them), knowing that maximum engine performance is reached around 2000 km. They told me that this machine had quite low commercial success due to its maximum speed (scooter only for urban areas-central city).
For the next step, I'll see if I continue with the purchase of an exhaust or if I leave it as it is.
Investing in a €150 exhaust to gain 5-6 km/h seems a bit expensive per km/h.... We'll see
Thanks again for your valuable information. -
Hello, thanks for your reactions 10/10
Personally, I still haven't managed to get my Ovetto 100 running with my 25 carburetor, and despite having a 124cc cylinder, with an original exhaust, I can only reach 80km
I'm leaving you a link where I buy my parts, super fast delivery, no issues

Hi,
Same answer, try to lower your spray to avoid "drowning" it.
As for me, after months of research, the problem was with the drive belt.
Indeed, for 50 cc, the wear limit of the belt (for Minarelli horizontal) is 15.2 mm, and I couldn't find the limit for 100 cc, but when I measured my belt, it was less than 14 mm!!!
I ordered a new one (not cheap by the way) which originally is almost double the thickness and it finally works correctly.
Result: speed increased from 65 km/h to 87-90 km/h on flat with the original exhaust. -
