Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 2012 wlmi laptop
I would like to know how to activate Bluetooth?
Because I do have a Bluetooth button but it tells me there’s no device.
I would like to know how to activate it either physically or through software?
If you have a little trick that would be nice
Thanks
See you later

Dear customer,

Every ACER laptop comes standard with a Bluetooth button.
This does not imply the integration of the function on the product.
The model you have does not have the built-in BLUETOOTH function.
We recommend using an external USB dongle.

This is what Acer's service team replied when I asked why the Bluetooth function on my ACER Aspire 9302 laptop was not working; it therefore concerns a dummy button that is useless and misleading when purchasing the device!

for those who have an acer:
-go to the acer website
-support
-download center
-laptop
-then search for your computer
-look for the download for bluetooth

Thank you for the information, but it does not answer my question (how to stop the flashing of no Bluetooth device).

Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 5601 AWLMI.

The same issue: no device.

I inserted the recovery DVD that I was offered to burn at the first startup of Windows.
In D:\PATCH\BTW you will find an .exe
It's an installation that allows you to manage Bluetooth connections.

However, apparently, Acer has literally made a fool of us because it doesn't work; I think the laptop isn't equipped with a Bluetooth card, it can receive one, but it's not equipped with it!
I thought I had bought a laptop with Bluetooth in the specifications.
It's simply false advertising! It's disgusting.

Now I just have to go to the nearest supermarket to buy a Bluetooth dongle.

Scandalous!

Hello everyone, I see I'm not the only one having a problem with Bluetooth.
I have an Aspire 7004WSMI PC and I also have an integrated Bluetooth key, but my PC doesn't recognize any devices and there's nothing indicated in the control panel either... If you can find me a solution because I've tried quite a lot of things.
Do I maybe need to buy a dongle or something?? Thank you!!!!

Hello
First, check if it is enabled in the control panel. According to the setting, it should activate as soon as it detects another Bluetooth device.
See you later!

Hello everyone,

I also have an ACER Aspire 2012WLMI. And I have the same problem!!!
After checking under the transparent cover below the battery, I noticed that the Bluetooth card was not included with this laptop!!!
All the hardware is there, but there is no card!!!
There is a cable with 8 wires and a rectangular connector. The card should measure 36 mm by 18 mm and have 1 hole in each corner.

Is it possible to find this type of Bluetooth card with the appropriate drivers?

You need to buy a Bluetooth device!

It's written just above apparently! :)

But at around 40 for the card, it might be better to just get a Bluetooth key for €15...

Hello everyone,
I just bought a new ACER laptop for Christmas and I'm getting the same message as you (no Bluetooth device) on the Aspire 7720z when using the shortcut.
Even though everything is set up to make us believe that the PC has this feature (even in the user manual).
Very disappointed by this sales tactic (too bad for them, their misled customers will take care of spreading the word about them).
It's really borderline scam.
That said, this will definitely be the last one I buy.
Have a great day, everyone;

Pfff, I also have an Acer Aspire 5102 laptop, which supposedly only has Bluetooth, I tried connecting my laptop with my friend's mobile phone and nothing at all.... awesome!!! Even with the wireless assistant.
However, it asks me what I am connecting with (and among the options, there’s USB key) so indeed, I think it would be cheaper to buy a Bluetooth USB key....

Good evening

IDEM. I have an Acer 9420 and it has all the hardware but apparently not the card. It responds with no device. What should I do? Buy a Bluetooth dongle? Is there a way to recover the device in another way?

Me too, I'm lucky to have an Acer Aspire 1650, but the Bluetooth doesn't connect to anything. I would even say that when I press it, the message says "no device found," so I'm feeling a bit lost. I've looked into a lot of things, and I can't get it to work. Helppp help me please!

Hi. If Vista talks to you about signing, type "trust". Otherwise, you need to buy a Bluetooth module which costs about €15 on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180137240361&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008. The Bluetooth module is not installed on all Acer models like mine on Aspire 3103

I saw all your messages, everyone has the same problem, Acer doesn't see this, and yet they make good PCs. I hope Acer will resolve this Bluetooth issue, thank you Acer. I also have an Acer PC and I am very happy.

I also have an ACER; I tried to connect my phone, and the computer doesn't recognize it. I think there is no Bluetooth card. Is there another way to connect my phone via Bluetooth without having to buy a dongle? Thanks.

No device... Is there really a card or a Bluetooth key installed on the phone?

Hi! I have an Acer Aspire 5102WLMI with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but the Bluetooth function no longer works (even though it did before!). It tells me like yours: "No Bluetooth device" when I toggle the switch on the front!

I do have the Bluetooth icon in the control panel, it says that this device is working properly, but that it is not signed by Microsoft...

I have a legal version of XP (pre-installed) with SP2 and SP3 for the Office pack, I.E 7 Windows Media Player 11, and Windows Live OneCare

It seems that Bluetooth does not play nicely with Acer! Too bad because they are excellent PCs and apart from that, I am very satisfied.

Could someone help me with this issue???

Thanks in advance.

Nicolas.

Hello,

No, nothing new on that front... besides this http://s116441255.onlinehome.us/flyin2000/5601.htm for the Acer 5601 which would work with the same card!

However, I saw that it was possible to find internal Bluetooth cards for Acer on eBay, for a cost of about 25 euros including shipping.
The item title is

Acer Laptop Internal Bluetooth 2.0 Module 8pin1.05cm L

That can help in performing a search with eBay's search engine.

I hope I was clear.

Best regards,
