Hello,
I also have the black screen issue when PES 2009 starts, and yet I have a very good configuration on my PC. I have an HP TouchSmart with a Core 2 Duo, an NVIDIA graphics card, and 4GB of RAM running Windows Vista. Could you please provide me with a solution? Help me out!
Configuration: Windows Vista Internet Explorer 7.0

    check if your screen resolution is the same as the one you entered in the game, or else go to "properties"
    then go to "compatibility" and check if the compatibility mode is windows vista
