Windows installer requires acropro.msi

Hello and thank you for trying to solve my problem:
A Windows installer window opens stating "preparing to install," then a second one appears displaying "the component you are trying to use is on a resource... and needs the file acropro.msi
This problem occurs whenever I right-click on a program or on the recycle bin... OR whenever I open a MS Office program..!
This issue started after I deleted everything that was part of the Adobe CS3 program (which I wasn't using) from my C drive, and now I can no longer uninstall Adobe Reader 8 (since I deleted everything!) and these Windows installer messages keep popping up!
I'm not very good with computers, so I thank you if you can help me.
