download Arte video Solved/Closed

Question

Hello,

I still haven't found a solution to download videos from the Arte site. It's really a shame, because since they don't sell them either, we only have 7 days to watch them, and then pffffft, they're forgotten. So if anyone has a tip, a trick, a plugin to download this kind of videos, that would be great. Thanks!

You can download Download Helper, an extension for Firefox, with which you can download all the videos available on the internet. This extension integrates with your browser and is very convenient.

Be very careful with the explanations on the site to avoid messing everything up, but otherwise... perfect!

(small note, for PC, but with a little VMware Fusion and a good old Windows XP installed...)

I copy Dolph's post that I found on other topics, because this one comes up first on Google.

I have the most current answer as of January 2012 (after several changes on the arte website making downloading impossible)

You just need to use the TVO software (link here: http://www.encodage.org/tvo/tvo.htmll )

Unzip it, open the .exe, choose the video from the list provided, then click on save.

I found this simple but effective little software on a German website.... a702  http://www.chip.de/downloads/c1_downloads_hs_getfile_v1_52967607.html?t=1368358435&v=3600&s=639dfe97605a5c413d74c5f12e45dd7e  after installation simply copy and paste the URL of the desired video from the Arte mediathek into the software which will take care of the download. The format of the downloaded file is flv, playable with the VLC app.  Good luck,  JP

Good evening.
A good free and very effective solution for streaming or downloading a program from Arte:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/zdfmediathk/
This software allows you to watch and record programs from Arte France, Arte (de), and also some other German shows, I believe.
This program is only in German, but it is easy to use and very effective.
In the search area at the top right of the program window, you just need to enter a program title (which can be easily found on the Arte TV guide),
http://www.arte.tv/guide/fr
for example, enter into the "Mediathek" search area
"La France par la côte"
then press the Enter key on the keyboard
and a list of corresponding programs will be displayed.
You just need to click either on the green arrow button to watch the program (which opens in VLC) ==>> to be installed here
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
or click on the red dot to record the program on your PC.
You can choose between several different video qualities, and you can choose the recording folder (default saves to the "Mediathek" folder at the root of the user folder)
An excellent solution in my opinion.

Hello,  For my part, I capture Arte with software (paid €25) that allows me to capture streaming videos. The only downside is that you have to watch the program in full. But afterwards, you can watch it whenever you want.  If you’d like, I can create a shared folder to allow you to access videos I've already made. Are you looking for a specific documentary or series? I can’t guarantee I have everything, but I would gladly share what I already have in store.
