Hello, my computer shut down while I was working on a drawing in GIMP. Is there a way to recover this unsaved image?
Thank you
Configuration: Linux Firefox 3.0.12

Here, I found this on the forum; someone had lost their Word file. Try doing this with GIMP! With a bit of luck...

"You need to go into Windows Explorer and change the display option (include hidden files)

Look in the directory documents and settings/user/application data/microsoft/word or excel or another and open the file that corresponds in time and date of modification to the last ten good minutes of the work that was in progress (i.e.: the program automatically saves every 10 minutes or just before the infamous cut-off) (in the worst case, open all the files there) and open the file corresponding to that time frame with excel or word or the application in question, and you're good to go.

I had the same problem with a file of great importance; believe me, it worked. I hope it works for you too.

A+ (For others who don't have solutions on this forum, avoid being too sure of yourselves by saying that it's impossible, especially when the person asking for help is at their wit's end) when you don't know, you look for it!"

Except that your solution doesn't work for GIMP...

Hello,

"Look in the directory documents and settings/user/application data/microsoft/word or excel or other and open the file that corresponds in time and date of modification to the last ten good minutes of the work that was in progress "

=> GIMP does not do automatic saving..
=> the solution is valid on Windows (directory documents and settings)...but: "Configuration: Linux"
