Hello,
After extensive research online and going through numerous topics on the subject, I haven't found an answer to my question, or at least... to my problem.
Indeed, we are three friends who have purchased the game Dawn of War separately (I specify the legal version), two (including me) via Steam and the third one by CD (only Dark Crusade).
Here’s the introduction.
When launching a multiplayer game, (the three players launch the Dark Crusade expansion) the host (always me) creates a game and chooses a map accessible to the third player who does not own the previous expansions.
Here comes the problem.
Player 1 = me, Player 2 = the other one who bought his game via Steam, Player 3 = the last one who only has Dark Crusade.
Player 1 creates the server, Player 2 joins, Player 3 cannot enter the server.
Player 1 creates the server, Player 3 joins, Player 2 cannot enter the server.
Player 2 creates the server, Player 1 joins, Player 3 cannot enter the server.
Player 3 creates the server, Player 1 joins, Player 2 cannot enter the server.
Another issue,
in a game created by another player (Player 4, we don’t know who that is)
Player 4 creates the game, Player 1 joins, Player 2 joins, Player 3 does not join or is AUTOMATICALLY KICKED and takes Player 2's place.
Player 4 creates the game, Player 1 joins, Player 3 joins, Player 2 does not join or is AUTOMATICALLY KICKED and takes Player 3's place.
Info:
Player 2 has a weak connection.
Player 2 receives an error message (sometimes) when creating a server.
Player 3 is on Vista, Players 1 and 2 are on XP.

Hello.
Since yesterday afternoon, we've had exactly the same problem with a friend who has just returned to the game after only having DC.
Earlier this afternoon, it was possible to play with this friend, without really knowing why it was doable now.
Five minutes ago, we tested again, and now… Impossible. I was searching high and low for how to solve this damn problem. I stumbled upon your topic, read it to my friend, who is also testing something on his end at the same time… And he resolved the issue on his own.
I hope this can help you too! The next time you play together, advise your friends to start a skirmish and leave it before joining the lobby. It’s silly, but it works every time for us now.
Good luck! -
