Hello internet friends ^^

I have a problem... let me present it to you:

I bought a Toshiba P300/P300D yesterday, and when I try to connect to my Livebox (with the WEP key and all), I can’t because my Livebox doesn’t even show up in the network center. I pressed the button to activate the WiFi, but it doesn’t work.
Maybe the WiFi card isn’t installed? I don’t know.

Please help me solve my problem.

Thank you and have a great day!
Configuration: Windows Vista Firefox 3.0.11

The Vista is not working well with WEP, so access your router's interface, change the SSID and the key to WPA.
Also, make sure that the Wi-Fi on your PC is active....

The indicator is on, so that part is good.
And I have another laptop with Vista that works very well with the internet, so I don't think it's a router configuration issue.

Does your second PC detect the neighbor's Wi-Fi? If yes, does your Toshiba detect it?
1 - If yes, then the issue is with the Livebox
2 - If no, then the issue is with your Toshiba.

If it's 1, then try going to the interface and changing the Wi-Fi channels (try 9, 11, or 13).
If it's 2, then completely uninstall the Wi-Fi card from the device manager and restart the PC.

I don't have a neighbor, but at my grandmother's my other PC detects the connection, and the Toshiba does not detect it. So it must be the Toshiba.

Are you recommending that I uninstall the Wi-Fi card?

GESTIONNAIRE DE périphériques ==> clic droit sur ta carte wifi 802 et puis redémarrage; cela permet de réinitialiser et de supprimer tous les paramètres de la carte; entre autres, comme si la carte est toute neuve.

Is this the network card? "Marvell Yukon 88E8040T PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller"?

Because I don't see "wifi" anywhere.

It's not fast Ethernet; it will be marked "802" or wireless.

Well, I think the Wi-Fi card isn't even installed...

Well, I think the wifi card is not even installed...

If it's not installed, then you know what you need to do...

I returned to the store, so it was indeed the wifi card that wasn't installed correctly, so the seller reset the PC but I had another problem with it, so in the end I took another one, the same. And now everything works well.

For those who don't want to go back to the store, you need to go to the Toshiba website to download the driver that corresponds to your device model, and reinstall the computer to factory settings.

With that, thank you for your attention, and best wishes =)
