Hello,

I'm having a shortcut problem in Excel and I'm fed up with digging through Google to find an answer!
The shortcut Ctrl Shift Down/Up arrow to select a range of data in a column up to the first empty cell encountered is no longer working!
But the shortcut Ctrl Shift Right/Left arrow is working...
Has anyone got an answer for me??

Thank you

Lucie

Just a clarification, the Ctrl + Shift + Left/Right Arrow shortcut doesn't actually work either. It selects but in a random manner on the line.
Minusette, I found a message from someone with the same issue on another forum, dating back to 2005 (o_O) and no replies....
And I even called the IT hotline at my work; they were supposed to call me back when they found something, but they still haven't called back...
In short, it's either you manage without it, or you don't manage at all.

Hello Lucie!
I FOUND IT!!!! You need to go to Tools/Options, select the "transition" tab, and in the "settings" box, uncheck "alternative movement keys."
I eventually found it while browsing forums looking for another problem, as you will notice that when this thing is checked (who knows why it got checked one day...) you have a hidden "^" at the beginning of each cell, which prevents you from doing a lot of things, like sorting, etc... and it was by looking for how to remove those that my navigation problem was solved.
Hoping to have helped you...
