Hello,
I have a Blackberry 8120 and it displays "initialization failed" at the top of the screen, so I can no longer make or receive calls. I used desktop manager to restore it but still no solution.
Thank you

It's kind of you! I'll do the same! But I admit that I'm unlucky with the babies, as I have another one that fell into the water and I think the motherboard got a hit since it doesn't respond when I plug it in.
Good evening!
I have the same problem...
Earlier, I unlocked my Blackberry Curve 8520,
And (just an hour before, it was working perfectly!) Without any explanation,
It does the same thing as you. So I turned it off, then took a look at the
SIM card, and there was water on it! Just a little bit on the chip! Yet neither the battery nor the spot where it was placed was wet! So I carefully dried the card, blew into where you insert it, and then it worked again. And now, it's doing it again. So I just put the card back in, but nothing...

Good evening, I always come to seek your help because I still don't have a solution for my BlackBerry.
I had the same problem this morning. It’s due to the SIM card; it must have burned out. I went to my operator (Orange), and they gave me a new SIM card (it’s free) and everything was sorted.
No need to look any further...
See you later

Good evening, I don't understand!
So they changed your SIM card? (chip)
Or did they change the support on which we place the chip?

Hello,
I had the same issue with my Blackberry 9360. So I connected it to my PC, as "ellou" described above, and it worked again...
A week later, the problem came back, I tried to do the same thing again but this time it didn't work. So I turned off my phone, removed the battery and the SIM card, blew on them, and then restarted it. It initialized and it's working again.... No idea where this issue could come from? Maybe indeed a SIM card that could fail soon...
To be continued...
