Hello!!
A friend told me that cliptomp3 was a legal and free download site; I went there
and I was wondering if it's really a legal site^^

    It's completely legal; it all depends on your usage. If it's to pirate music, then obviously it becomes illegal.

Otherwise, if you say that cliptomp3 is illegal, they will reply that they are simply making it possible for you to access the soundtrack of a video. This may not be very legal (to be honest, I don't know), but it's already less illegal than downloading music. It's the use of the cliptomp3 service that you make that can be illegal, I think.

    It's mainly that cliptomp3 just takes the audio track from the video and gives it to you... So, well, it's not directly related to music downloading, I think. But it is of course possible to download music, thanks to the audio tracks of the songs you find on YouTube, Dailymotion, and the like.

    I don't know if it's really legal, but I know that we have the full right to record, like, a radio. When you record a song that plays on the radio onto a cassette, it's legal. And I don't see how anyone could tell that you're recording it ;)

    It depends on how you see things. On one hand, it's illegal because the artists we download are not compensated when we download them on cliptomp3. It's like downloading on Emule, you don't pay for the songs you take.
    But on the other hand, it's extracting converted audio. It's like using keepvid to take the link of a video and then converting it into whatever you want (in this case, mp3), but it could also be mp4, avi... anyway.
