Black screen since a power outage

Hello,

I experienced 2 power outages while the computer was on, and since then, when it turns on, the screen is black. There's just a small message at the beginning that says "Windows is starting, press F8 for problem resolution and advanced startup options."
It's an old computer; I don't know if I can mention the brand.
Someone told me that it might be related to the hard drive, but I would like to get the opinion of someone who knows about these things.

THANK YOU.
Configuration: Windows 2000 pro Firefox 3.0.10

    Hello......

If it is, as I assume, a tower, remove the right side when looking at it from the back... you will see a battery clipped against the motherboard, often a CR2032 button cell, with the + visible and, therefore, the - against the motherboard... remove this battery for 20 minutes, put it back, and restart, then let me know.....

    Best regards,

      Good evening poupougne13

I found the battery as you told me. I removed it and waited for over 20 minutes, but it doesn't work (it's still the same)

And by pressing F8, does it give "start with the last known good configuration" or not?
