After a power outage, the iMac won't restart.

Hello,

Earlier, there was a power outage in my neighborhood.
Since then, although the power has come back, my beautiful 24" iMac won't start:
I'm a little worried because I don't hear a sound when I press the power button...

Is it serious, doctor?

    Hello, try unplugging and plugging your computer back in. Try a different outlet.

      Thank you for these suggestions, but I've already tried these two avenues and it doesn't change anything.

      Try this: unplug everything, and hold down the Power button for about ten seconds. Then plug the iMac back in, and keep holding down the Power button until you hear a long "Doing."
