Hello, I am in the process of creating an installation CD for XP and as part of the process, I am asked to save a file without an extension, created from Notepad. The problem is that I don't know how to save a file without an extension, so if someone has the solution, it would be nice to explain it to me.

Thank you in advance.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Good evening,

to save it without an extension, you just need to follow the procedure: put the file name _ win51ic _ in quotation marks, like this "win51ic" (in the _ File name _ window of Notepad)...

There you go...

Note
In the same way, you can add any extension you want (for example: "win51ic.moi") and then associate it with any software of your choice...

See you soon

And regarding my question about the root??? (see message a little higher) can someone confirm what I think?

You just need to do "the name of your choice" with the quotation marks
The win51ic is not mandatory (at least under Windows 7)
