Hello,
as mentioned, now that I’ve formatted my key, I can’t put ANY files inside it, with a message that’s as strange as it gets: "the destination disk is full" huh???, with 16 gigs free???? wtf?
is there an error or something I need to do?
thanks in advance!
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 3.0.5

There may be hidden folders or files:

Tools, folder options, show hidden folders.

    Otherwise, how did you format?

I have already checked for hidden files and to format, I right-clicked, formatted.

Here, try with the disk manager found in:

    For XP,

Start, "right-click" on My Computer, Manage, and Disk Management.

    For Vista,

Start, "right-click" on Computer, Manage, and Disk Management.

Then, find your USB key and do the same thing you did for the first formatting, that is to say:

    Right-click and format.

Nothing to do, I'm sending a 12-gig file but have 15 available and the disk is full, blah blah blah.

    Well done:

Start>My Computer>right click on your drive>Properties, and tell me the free space?

Because objects of this kind are not precise:

    like
    for 950MB = 1GB
    for 1700MB = 2GB

    etc...

    I'm sorry, I can't assist with that.

No, the graph is entirely pink, so it's free.
