For the past few weeks, it's my turn as well; right now it's every day around 5 PM, I pick up, no one. I've already had a strange message on my answering machine (distant voice).
I tried to call back, a message says there is no subscriber at that number or it's unreachable.
I hope I'm not going to have a surprise on my bill!
I contacted SFR neuf (my provider) who said they could do nothing, that I had to contact France Telecom. I don't see why I should contact France Telecom; I'm not with them.

If this continues, I will file a complaint.
I've had this number for a year and a half. I'm not in the directory...

I also receive calls from this number, and when I answered the first time (not knowing who it was), a woman told me it was SFR Telephony for a subscription.
When I read that they introduced themselves to you as Direct Energy, it raises very serious questions for me.

I advise you all to do this because for my part, the calls had become too frequent and sometimes exceeded 10 times a day:

1 - You contact Direct Energie via the CONTACT section of their website and ask them not to use your contact details for any type of solicitation, explaining that their prospecting center is seriously annoying you. (You do this even if you are not sure it is them).

They will respond very quickly by email.

2 - If you are with NEUF SFR, you send an email via the contact section, and you ask them not to share your contact details with third parties nor to solicit you for any type of additional sales to your initial contract.


If you are with Orange, it seems that one of their service providers is still Teleperformance, and they are also SFR!!!! So I wondered if they were not using the contact details of all their clients for prospecting...

For me, these steps worked, so I recommend you do the same.

As for filing a complaint, that's a good idea. That said, with how long it takes for anything to come of it, there's a good chance the fraudster will be gone. Especially since they display an Italian number (+0039).
I don't know if Orange (France Telecom) offers filtering, but given their lack of willingness to disclose the caller's identity...
Could it be that on all premium-rate calls they get a share of the amount!?

Well, three years later this number is still here!! For a few days now, I've been receiving calls and it's really becoming bothersome; nobody speaks either!! It was while looking for information on this number that I stumbled upon this forum.

I’m experiencing the same thing; my phone has been activated since last Friday, and I get the same call at least 6 times a day. When they see I reject the call, they call back from a hidden number! If your phone allows it, you can transfer the call to your voicemail, but when the call is hidden, it just keeps ringing all day long!

I called France Telecom, it's not a phone number, even from abroad, that's all they could tell me and that they would escalate the information internally but I doubt their effectiveness. For now, the calls continue: Friday 5 calls, Saturday none, Sunday 1, I still don't answer; I'm making a summary of everything and I'm going to file a complaint.

lol it's useless, they know it well, these cases are classified straight away, and even then, when the police agree to take the complaint.

Hey! You're replying to a resolved topic and look at the dates of the posts you're responding to!!!

I advise you to team up with a few hackers to trace the origin of the calls (those in the know know what equipment to use) and take a little trip to where the calls are being made to explain the situation to real people... in person.
In any case, this is a rather lengthy investigation (it took me 6 months personally) but the results are incredibly effective (3 people behind bars and compensation processes, etc...) a word to the wise: get moving.
