Mandrake 10 : installation des pilotes NVIDIA

Bonjour,

J'ai récupéré les pilotes NVIDIA sur le site officiel et je les ai installé sans problème d'après les fichiers de log. J'ai rebooté ma machine et je peux voir l'écran NVIDIA pendant un court laps de temps, et après j'ai un écran blanc (oui pas noir) au lieu de l'écran de login habituel. Je suis obligé d'aller modifier le fichier XF86Config-4 pour remplacer nvidia par nv et de relancer X pour retrouver mon écrzn de login habituel. J'ai épluché la plupart des messages relatant des problèmes entre pilotes nvidia et mandrake ainsi que les sites de didacticiel d'installation mais je n'ai rien trouvé qui ressemble à mon problème.
Pourtant tout est bien installé et le driver est chargé.

Salut,
Peux-tu nous copier le contenu de ton /var/log/XFree86.0.log juste après avoir lancé ton X avec les pilotes nvidia ?

Arf, utilisant kdm par défaut je me suis dit "c'est peut-être le login manager qui déconne !" et j'ai sélectionné xdm via mcc. Je reboot la machine et bing ... la fenêtre de login xdm est là. Moche mais elle est là. Je me connecte sous le compte utilisateur et là, horeur le bureau est sans dessus dessous ! Les icones sont partis en haut mais je peux encore les voir, le bureau a subit une cure d'amaigrissement (j'étais habituellement en 1600x1200 et il a l'air d'être passé en 1024x780), je ne peux rien lancer sinon un Eterm dans lequel j'ai lancé les commandes :
$ xpdyinfo | grep GLX

$ glxgears
... beaucoup de FPS ... sans commune mesure avec la bécane que j'ai au boulot.

Mais impossible de lancer une fenêtre ... elle apparaissent surdimensionné dans l'écran, les fenêtre d'aide lorsque je passe sur une icone prennent au moins 3 fois la taille de l'écran ... je ne peux en lire que les 2 ou 3 premières lettres.
Impossible de lancer mcc même si la fenêtre apparait bien je ne vois aucune icones ... juste le mot fichier ce qui est, me semble t'il, le premier dans le menu. Bref, impossible de faire quoi que ce soit sous X. J'ai jeté rapidement un coup d'oeil au fichier /var/log/mdkkdm.log dans lequel il y a un (EE) sur une bibliothèque ...GL.... Désolé de ne pas pouvoir être plus précis mais ne pouvant lancer aucun navigateur internet depuis Linux j'ai du repasser sous w2k.

Si je pouvait remettre tout ça d'équerre ... je suis preneur de toutes les idées.

Toujours des problèmes et pas de solution en vue. Quelqu'un qui aurait installé le même pilote NVIDIA sur une Mdk 10 Official, et, pour qui tout fonctionnerait à merveille, pourrait me donner ce qu'il obtient avec les commandes suivantes :

tu dois compiler ton noyau et changer nv par nvidia ensuite si apres un reboot cela ne fonctionne plus (erreur 11) fais comme suit:
cat /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 |grep nvidia

et le tour est joué

Recompiler le noyau ! En quoi vois-tu que c'est la solution ?
Le pilote n'a pas eu de problème avec le noyau - se gratte la tête et se dit que ça doit être un truc énorme - les sources étaient en cohérence avec la version du noyau et s'il y avait eu un problème sur ce point, je l'aurais vu dans le fichier /var/log/nvidia-installer.log, non ?

Je pensais qu'il s'agissait d'un problème de librairies mais il ne semble pas car j'ai bien les mêmes avec ces deux en plus :
/usr/X11R6/lib/libGLU.la

Et seul xdm fonctionne pour le login si le pilote nvidia est sélectionné dans le fichier XF86Config-4 mais kde est tout en bordel !!!

Dans /var/log/xdm.log et dans /var/log/gdm/:0.log je retrouve la ligne
(EE) Failed to initialize GLX extension (NVIDIA X driver not found)
alors que j'ai décommenté la ligne load "glx". Qu'est-ce qui me manque puisque tous les fichiers qui devaient être installé par l'installateur sont là ?

Argh ! J'y perds mon latin.

Perso j'ai tapé urpmi kernel source avant et il a voulu installé les dernière sur mes mirroirs soit les 2.6.3-16...
J'ai alors stopper et installé ceux de mon cd.

C'est rien qu'une idée :o...?

Oui, j'ai bien les sources correspondant à mon noyau récupéré sur le CD. Je l'ai controlé avant de lancer l'installation.

Enfin, c'est résolu. Un type sur le forum NVIDIA m'a trouvé la solution. Il suffisait d'ajouter, dans le fichier XF86Config-4, dans la section "Device", la ligne :

Option "IgnoreEDID" "1"

L'écran de connexion tout comme le bureau KDE ont retrouvé un comportement nominal.
