Merci

Mauvaise nouvelles mes amis...

Dear Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you for contacting Garmin International.
You can revert back to older versions but we do not have them available
through Garmin. You would need to go to the link below for the archived
versions. Sorry I don't have any other options to offer. You will find
the Nuvi updates near the bottom of the list.

Larry,
Your answer does not make sens to me. I had the full street names before
I did the update. There must be a way I could go back to the old french
version of the display. Come on your company is big enough to fix this!
In fact your web updater should give back the old version as it was fine
!

I wish I could say yes but there is nothing they can do for this. It has
to do with the optimum number of characters available on the screen when
viewing different languages. Many of our units do not give the street
names at all but instead a distance. Once you use the unit a bit I think
you will find that the abbreviations won't effect your navigation. I am
sorry we don't have a solution for this issue.

Larry,
Thanks for the fast reply.
You were right, when the unit is set as french it does not show some streets completely :-( when it's set as english it's ok. Not good since we speak french over here and I am the only one in the family that is ok with english. Anything we can do to fix it back ? Please say yes !!!
If you need more image or information, please let me know.
One more thing... The unit does not accept the « Off Road » mode since
the update. As soon as I put Off Road, it comes back to faster road. I
loved the Off road when I was going in the bush. That is one of the
reason I wanted this unit !
Honestly I think I shouldn't have updated the unit.......

Dear Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you for contacting Garmin International.
I will be happy to help you with this. It may just be the settings in
the unit. I would recommend resetting the unit.
The master reset is as follows:
1. With the device off put an eraser on a pencil in the BOTTOM RIGHT
hand corner of the TOUCHSCREEN and press down.
2. While pressing down on the screen go ahead and power the unit ON and
continue pressing the screen until you see
a message that says DO YOU REALLY WANT TO ERASE ALL USER DATA? YES?
OR NO?
3. You will then click YES.
4. You will then go through the set up again.
Once you have completed the reset please let the unit sit outside for
about 15-30 standing still so that it can acquire satellites. After it
gets a good lock leave the settings on English to see if it works with
default settings. Let me know what you find out.
