Error code 1010

Hello,
I noticed that I am not the only one with the issue of the U3 USB drive that won't start and displays a message "error code 1010".
Also, the drive works perfectly fine on other PCs.
I have Windows XP, updated drivers, and no disks in the drives.
I even uninstalled Nero 7.0. No results.
Is it Windows, or Sandisk, that sometimes "bugs"? Is there a rational solution?
Thank you
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

Error 1010 means: Invalid configuration registry key.

Thank you for the decoding, but I'm missing the main thing: the remedy for this problem.
Why and how can "the configuration registry key" be invalid?
      Have you ever encountered this?
      Thank you.
