How to create a chat?

Hello Tressie,

Have you developed your site yet, or is it just a project?
What is your level of IT skills?

Signed: PRETTY GIRL IN DISTRESS!!!!
:p

to create a chat you can do it in PHP
here is an example with a course https://openclassrooms.com/fr/courses

otherwise there is Java and probably other languages but I can't help you with that

My site is being created, I would just like to know if there is a possibility to create my own chat feature on my site later on, I don't have a high level of computer skills.

Sure Tressie,

Yes, of course, creating a chat (without the "t") is achievable, but the "real-time" nature of a chat involves using technologies such as Java or, more difficult to implement: Ajax (that is, relying on Javascript and the XMLHttpRequest object).
As you can see, this is not within everyone's reach.
There may be tutorials online, but it will NOT be really easy.

Inserting a forum is, on the other hand, much simpler (see phpBB on Google for example)

Thank you aztazt, thank you very much, that's nice.

But for me personally, I didn't find anything simpler than this:
http://imrik44.hbg.fr/modules/Tchat/nk.php
you just need to enter the name of the chat room you want and copy-paste the code provided on the page of your site where you want the chat to appear.
the chat works with the Anope services (available commands here: http://imrik44.hbg.fr/modules/Anope/fr/)
what are Anope services? well, it allows you to register your nickname so that no one can steal it, etc...

you can also modify the size of the chat, etc... for any questions, leave a message at: http://imrik44.hbg.fr/modules.php? [...] forum&f=11

désolé, le lien pour le forum n'a pas marché.

You have to call your friends' friends that you don't know and chat with them. Good luck and good relationship!
