Firefox or Google

Hello,
It seems that Firefox is better than Google Chrome.
I installed Firefox as my search engine, but when I search for something, I always have Google in the search bar ???

    That’s normal!

    You’re confusing Firefox as a browser with Google as a search engine!

    Personally I prefer the Firefox browser over Google Chrome.

      Firefox, Google Chrome, Edge are web browsers.

      Each browser comes with a default search engine, Bing for Edge and Google for Firefox and Chrome.

      So browser features and search engines are two different things.

      On Firefox and Chrome, it is possible to use other search engines, and even to choose the one that is default.

        Hello,

        Neither Firefox nor Google Chrome are search engines but browsers. Each of the two can integrate a default search engine, often Google Search and simultaneously "alternative" search engines such as Bing (Microsoft), DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, YahooSearch, among others, which you can select on the fly or configure as the default search engine.

        Furthermore, as with any product, there are supporters of one or the other, depending on the features that are useful to you (extensions, page saving mode, ergonomics, etc.).

            I do not share this view. It would be necessary to be more precise about the negative points raised by its detractors.

            Tests often place it at the top in terms of compliance with standards, speed, and completeness of responses.

            Take the most well-known criticism, that personal data are exploited by Alphabet Software (contested by Google); so we would also have to renounce YouTube, Android, Google Maps, or Gmail, which belong to the same group. And also switch operating systems since Windows is accused of spying by its most motivated detractors.

            I’ll stop my "plea" here because I lack the taste for controversies fueled by anonymous interlocutors.

            But nothing prevents you from trying and choosing a competing product.

          No, actually you’re mixing things that work together but aren’t the same thing ------- Chrome is the browser ------

          In the same way as ----- Firefox, ------- Brave etc.

          And to perform searches these browsers use ------------- Search engines ---------- which can be -- Google -- or -- Bing -- or even -- Yahoo! --

          Reread what the previous speakers say and try to understand how it works.

              That said, outside the search engine, there is no truly good or bad browser per se.

              The sea-serpent of asserted or real speed has gone under the radar on recent machines.

              Google’s privacy, as previously noted, is a pipe dream across all browsers; the browser itself can lead, as with Brave, to excesses that make browsing complicated.

              Proprietary browsers like Opera or Vivaldi have their supporters but also their detractors because customization and support are relatively closed.

              Beyond privacy itself, Chrome or Edge by default (outside of extensions) are quite intrusive in “offering” third-party sites or content.

            Okay, now I would like to put my Chrome bookmarks bar into Firefox's Bookmarks Toolbar.

            1) I indeed have the file: "favoris 16_10_2026.html"

            2) I indeed have the "Library" window

            3) I indeed have the list of my folders in "Bookmarks Toolbar"

            How do I put it at the top of the page?
