Contact synchronization with Facebook

Question

Hello everyone,

I just bought today the Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) and I can't sync my directory contacts with my Facebook contacts... for my Gmail contacts everything is done automatically but for Facebook nothing happens even though I downloaded the Facebook app...

Your Gmail contacts have been synchronized.  
Download the Facebook app.  
They will ask you how you want to sync your contacts.  
You select that you want to select all of them in order to sync.  
You end up with a directory filled with all your Facebook contacts.  
Next, select one of your Gmail contacts, a contact with a phone number.  
Edit contact.  
Attach.  
It then offers to associate this contact with one of the proposed names.  
If the contact you want to sync is there, select it, otherwise choose “all contacts.”  
You just have to choose the contact with which to sync.

I hope I made myself clear.  
I just did it ^^  
Don’t forget to go to Settings, “data sync” to be able to sync!  
If it’s on “automatic sync,” everything will happen by itself.  
Otherwise, select the account you want to sync!

Feel free to ask questions, although I don’t know if I’ll be able to help with everything.

Thank you Kevin for your help...
I can find all my contacts in my address book and it seems to have linked existing contacts to those on Facebook. However, the photos of my fb contacts do not appear in my directory, and when I click on Facebook Profile > Show profile I always land on my own fb profile rather than the selected contact's. Is that normal?
And while we're at it... do you know how to delete a shortcut of an app placed on the home pages?

So here I am at the same point as you and I have the same problems: no profile photos, and I also end up on MY profile...

It seems to me that the FacebookSync app (to download from the market) automatically puts profile photos onto your contacts.

Oh and yes, to delete a shortcut from an app on your home page, you press and hold the shortcut. A trash can appears at the bottom, you drag your shortcut into it.

Regarding the Facebook app I checked on android market but the free app they offer is the one I already downloaded... If you manage to find a solution during the night, let me know... otherwise I think I'll go to a store to ask for advice but without much conviction ^^

I have the same problem with my Wave II; I can’t delete all my Facebook-synced contacts from my address book at the same time.

It had been working fine for me. But after a messaging bug (a friend's phone sent the same message 75 times and a few more times, and my phone didn’t like it...) I no longer have synchronization and I don’t know how to restore it... :/

I have another problem. When I bought my Samsung Galaxy S3 I managed to synchronize everything. But now no updates are happening and, as a result, my new contacts cannot be linked... does anyone have a solution?
(I hope I was clear enough :/)

I’m on a Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Facebook app Sync.applis says already accepted and error, try again later. It used to work very well, but since I reset the phone nothing works. Is there an option to do in the Facebook app settings or elsewhere?

And also when I download the Facebook app there are things to check before confirming the download— which ones should I check?

Hi, contact synchronization with the Facebook app has been disabled since May 2015, so all updates and this option as well. If you want to enable synchronization, you need to install an older version of the Facebook app from May 2015.
