How to recover after formatting?

Hi, is there a way to recover files after formatting my computer?
Thanks!!

After trying a dozen software programs, the only one that managed to show me all of my lost .mp3 files is Get Data Back for NTFS, BUT version 3.03 displays the list of files that can be recovered, and when you right-click to copy and paste to another hard drive, the message > option available only with the full version...

Damn, 8 hours of scanning for nothing!

I therefore recovered an older version but with the same principle,
I'm waiting to see if I'll be able to copy/paste my recovered files...

I am very very inexperienced considering what I just read: I am therefore asking a question that may have already been answered, and thank you in advance for a clear response -;) for lost Word files and images, can I recover them through one of the links you provided or does it only concern system files? If not, what can I do to retrieve my files?
Thank you and have a nice day everyone.

Hello,

I had an external hard drive that had a problem with shifted writing, I changed the USB cable, and I wanted to transfer the content from disk A to another external disk B of the same capacity. I intended to format disk A and I messed up and obviously did a quick format in NTFS on disk B, which was filled with mp3s of bootlegs and other rarities...

I haven't written anything over it yet, I tried "PC Inspector Files Recovery" but after 7 hours of scanning, it doesn't show any .mp3 files but clusters that are Chinese to me

I will try the links located a bit higher, my question is the following: out of all the options, which one would be the most suitable for recovering .mp3 files on an external hard drive formatted in NTFS under Windows XP?

Thank you for your advice.

Hello everyone,
like everyone here, I’m trying to recover my data, but there’s a question that doesn’t seem to have been addressed, unless I’m mistaken:
after a complicated mess, I formatted my partitions and deleted those partitions to create others. Does this change anything regarding the chances of recovering the lost data?
(I haven't written over the disk)
NB: standard formatting (not quick) and files in NTFS.

Thanks to the experts who are taking a bit of time to help the fools who don’t back up regularly!

Hello

You can also try easy recovery, but you will need a 3.5-inch drive (floppy disk drive)

and beforehand create a partition for recovery

have a good day.........

Hello, I'm not very good with computers, and I wanted to know if someone could guide me and help me. Let me explain my problem:
One day, my computer wouldn't start anymore (it said "error system, no key..."), my dad took it to a repair shop and they formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows.
They were able to recover some data, but the thing is, I had created an account on the computer with a password and had made some folders confidential, and those weren't backed up. Is there any way to recover them? (These are particularly a lot of photos in jpeg format and Windows Movie Maker video montages that I cared a lot about)

PS: I read the previous articles about data recovery, but could you clearly tell me which of these software is the most effective, if it is free, and especially how to do it concretely (I didn't understand everything, sorry)
Thank you in advance.

I had a problem with my hard drive and I had my data recovered by a company, it was great. It's paid, but they recover whatever you want. In any case, don't hesitate to get a quote on their website www.alternativeinformatique.com

See you later

easy recovery is your best chance

Hello, I don't know much about computers. (or not at all!)

You are my last chance, so please help me!

Here it is..
Having had an issue with my PC, after some checks, my brother explained to me that it would be better to format.
I made sure to back up everything I had in (D:).
However, one folder that I cared a lot about, which contained many photos, got caught up in it since it was saved in Windows (C:).

So, my question is:
Is it possible to recover that folder after a complete format on (C:)?

Thank you very much!

PS: Are the software programs paid?

I just used Get Back Data NTFS to recover images, Word documents, and emails after a deep format and a reinstallation of Windows (60 GB hard drive).
It took me an hour in total. Very efficient.

For cases where the hard drive is no longer recognized by the system or when standard software yields no results, there are specialized companies like https://www.recoveo.com/

Hello everyone
I'm desperately looking for a solution to recover my files after a long analysis with "getdataback" which keeps bothering me to register but I'm poor (lol). Is there a way to get a key? And the software to recover sounds and music is a demo version, I suppose... Thank you in advance.

To recover your image and sound files, a miracle software
Sandisk RescuePro, I recovered many of my photos after 2 low-level formatings and a new installation of Win XP on top, as well as many other software installed over this data, too bad I should have done it before installing these programs

Good luck

Hi,

I have a big problem and I hope that a genius can help me... unless the situation is completely hopeless...

Here’s the problem:

I had a Windows XP version and I wanted to replace it with a new XP version that includes Service Pack 2.

I launched the CD of my new Windows while formatting. Unfortunately, I didn’t back up everything beforehand. I kept the fonts and bookmarks, but nothing else.

The issue is that I had all my emails in Outlook for over a year and I hadn’t created an archive file, except for one that I can’t even open anymore.

Would doing an "unformat" allow me to recover those lost emails?

PS; I called Skynet but they don’t keep emails on their hard drives.

Thanks in advance

Hi
I had a 40GB hard drive partitioned into 2; one part for Windows and the other for my personal documents, and when I formatted it, I formatted both partitions.
After reading this page, I installed Easy Recovery Pro and it found a lot of files, but it’s a trial version that doesn’t allow recovering files, and I don’t have €500 to spend, so if someone could tell me where to find a free version or a patch, that would be great.
On the other hand, I tried GetDataBack but it found fewer files.
In any case, a big thank you to everyone for your advice.

What were the results with Stellar Phoenix?
Was it the demo version or the paid version?
Thank you for your response.

As XGuarden says, it is almost impossible to lose any data on a hard drive... However, recoveries can be quite variable. For my part, I regularly crash my system due to various manipulations (every 6 months, it becomes completely unstable and requires formatting), and often I forget to recover the little file that I need again in the new installation.
I've used: Get Data Back: excellent
Easy Recovery as well.

I'm currently testing Stellar Phoenix Fat & NTFS, and apparently, it goes a bit further, as I recover data from a double formatting...

If that can help. @ +
