How can I achieve that texture effect in InDesign? What websites do you recommend for finding resources: textures, materials, patterns... the quality on Pinterest tends to be average..

You take a black and white photo and a black and white abstract painting.
On ID, you place the portrait and then the painting on top.
You select it.
Then Object ---> Effect ---> Transparency (or directly via Fx): "Lighten" mode, and you adjust the opacity (in my example: 96%).
What are your sites for finding resources? : textures, materials, patterns... the quality on Pinterest remains average...
It’s best to avoid going on Pinterest (generally, those are thumbnails).
Look at Graphicriver, textures.com, etc. Just type the right keywords. And display the Google search tools specifying "large" for the image size.
But always be careful about copyright.
