Ping between 2 virtual machines

This is the company's network; the two physical machines do not have the same IP address, but the two virtual machines have the same one.

I can't ping even between the two physical machines (Windows) at all.

Just out of curiosity, how did you obtain your IP address? Is it a corporate network? If not, which internet service provider are you using?

10.0.2.15 is the IP address on both machines

I don't know VirtualBox very well; I used it only once and an old version.

However, I imagine it’s not very different from VMware.

Thus, when you create your virtual machine, you must have 3 options for the network settings:

Bridged: 1 virtual network card with a different IP address from your physical OS

Same Card: Same network card, same IP address

Isolation: Virtual machine isolated from the network with or without internet.

What network configuration do you use when entering the parameters for the virtual machines?

Do they both have internet access?

To find out the IP address on a virtual machine, you need to open a command prompt and type the following:

Windows: ipconfig

Linux: ifconfig

MacOS: ifconfig

Then look for the address in 192.168.X.X if it's a home network... This should be under the ipv4 section for Windows and wlan0 (if it's WiFi) on Mac and Linux or eth0 for Ethernet.

To perform a ping, you need to execute the following command:

ping target_ip_address
