But tell me, are you the one pretending to be Maxime Dolivia?
Otherwise, you're betraying your friends from Benin ;)

Attention, a gang from Benin (Cotonou) is currently operating on leboncoin with the email denis_duboit@hotmail.com

To justify their good faith, they send you scans of an ID card and a vehicle registration document from a certain Mr. Marc Achouri (likely one of their victims).

Beware of ads that are "too" attractive.

Always verify the identity of your interlocutor and cross-check the information (source of the email, city linked to the ad... Don’t hesitate to call if a phone number is provided; ask for a meeting in person even if you are unable to do so.

    Hello,
Well, I found an amazing ad for a vehicle on Le Bon Coin: €2900 for a 2010 model, with about 20,000 km. Suspecting it might be a scam, I still contacted the advertiser (an email doesn't cost anything). I received a long email saying he was selling the car at this price because it belonged to his wife, who died tragically, and that he works for an NGO, so if I send him info and money, he will deliver the car to me! My eye!
The guy's name is Michel Rousselle and his email address is rousselle.michel@hotmail.com
The number he provided is 00229 97 67 89 23 (the same one mentioned in a message).
So be on your guard and watch out for too good deals!

And a question to finish, does anyone know how to officially report this kind of scam to the authorities? Are they really taken into account??

    WARNING!!!!!!!!!!! DEMONT SOPHIE (demont_sophie@yahoo.fr

supposedly a military person makes me believe everything so I will pay her but refuses to give a mobile number
even says I can have it delivered to my home for free, that everything is already paid, and tells me that in order not to pay at the post, I have to say it’s a family member.
after asking for the number and saying that I prefer to pay more for security, I no longer receive a response^^ thank you internet (because as soon as she gave the address, I typed DEMONT on Google and immediately got "SOPHIE" following it, it made me understand, and after writing "scam from Cotonou with Western Union," I understood.

YOU KNOW WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I ALSO GOT SCAMMED. NOW, COTONOU FOR ME IS CHOLERA. I HATE BLACKS. I HAVE BECOME RACIST. EVEN MEDICINES, CLOTHES, I THROW EVERYTHING AWAY§§§§ THEY HAVE TAKEN MONOPOLY OVER US BECAUSE IT'S THE POOR WHO RESPOND BECAUSE THEY ARE IN NEED. NOT THE RICH BECAUSE THEY GO SHOPPING IN STORES. THE WORST PART IS THAT THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOTHING. NOTHING!! WESTERN UNION SHOULD CLOSE AND MY COMPLAINT HAS BEEN PENDING FOR 2 YEARS WITHOUT A RESPONSE. I THINK IT IS IN THE TRASH. I HATE THEM, THE COTONOU BENIN.

Hello, I'm going to Benin in February. There should still be a good crowd there, right? And if someone could give me some recommendations for cheap hotels, etc., I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

I live in Benin! We're doing well here! We get ripped off, but not more than elsewhere unless you're naive!!
As for hotels, there’s something for everyone
in Cotonou or in the country? Cotonou is not Benin...
      At your service.

I live in Cotonou and I work there, but I often travel around the country and I know quite a few nice addresses!
It's a beautiful country with welcoming people and like everywhere, there are dishonest people, and then ... poverty even misery that leads to many negative things, but I wouldn't trade my place here in the sun all year round.. in a calm country.. well.. I love Benin and its inhabitants.
