Probléme d'affichage et de resolution

Bonjour,
-j'viens tout juste d'installer ubuntu 8.04 sur mon pc et j'ai un probléme de resolution.
la resolution de mon ecran est de 640*480 et je peux pas faire plus petit que 800*600 ,quand je fait (systeme>preferences>resolution de l'ecran).deplus le bureau ne s'affiche pas entierement sur l'ecran.
-ma carte graphique est une MSI GForce FX5200
-mon fichier xorg.conf affiche ceci:

-j'ai essayer de modifier le modeline mais rien n'y faire ca marche pas,meme que ca a creer un nouveau fichier xorg.conf1 .
-je voudrais avoir une resolution moins grande,et ca devient vraiment urgent l'affichage est vraiment pourri,si quelqu'un pouvais m'aider a resoudre ce probléme je lui en serai reconnaissant.
