Hello,
I have been trying to install a mathematics software that is very useful for my work for quite some time now.
This software is free, it's called Lilimaths and can be downloaded from this location:
http://lilimath.free.fr/telecha/index.htm
During the installation of the software, it tells me that:
- C:/lilimath\disk1\lilienv.bat
- C:/lilimath\win\wuninst.ex_
Cannot be copied.
When I launch the software once the installation is complete, everything works, except for the fonts. I can't take a screenshot when I open the software, but it's hard to describe:
It seems that the fixed statements of the exercises (background image?) are not affected while the help file, the dynamic statements are unreadable (I see * instead of spaces and other indescribable things).
On Win 98 everything works perfectly but not at all on XP.
Here is my XP configuration:

I tried to manually replace the two files that were not copied (they didn’t have the same “weight”) but it didn’t fix anything.
I have been struggling with this for a while and it's a real problem.
Thank you in advance for your help. It's a software with very simple code according to what I've been told, I hope it takes just a little for it to work ;)
Thanks in advance!

Hello
Excerpt from the download link you provided...
The program LILIMATH is distributed on the internet as a single ZIP compressed file. Installation can be done under DOS or under Windows (3.1x/95/98/NT).
There's no mention of XP... so there is a compatibility issue....
Try doing this:
Right-click on the program icon... then on "properties"
click on the "Compatibility" tab and choose NT or Win 98....

Very difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room
Especially when it's not there...!!!!

Well...
It still doesn't work despite what you asked me to do. Could there be another solution? Like slightly modifying the program to adapt it to XP?
Thanks in advance and thanks baladur 13 for your reply ;)

Hello
Actually, quite simply, after downloading, I started the installation from the hard drive and there was a failure. You just need to copy the unzipped files to a CD, run the setup, and it works (there are still the files uninstal.ex and lilimath.ex that are not uncompressed, but this does not hinder proper functioning).
Here’s a little contribution (I tried the version specially designed for XP made by... I forgot the name, it's good but in a small window).

Sorry...
Modify the program???
Have you tried the installation under Dos... see the site
And you can also ask the question directly to those who designed the software....

Hello,
I am very familiar with this problem as I have been suffering from it since September 2008.
For two years, I was able to install Lilimath version 2.2 on the computers in the computer room (Windows 2000) at a college and on the one in the teachers' lounge (Windows XP). It worked great on both Windows 2000 and XP (yes, I said XP).
The computers in the computer room have been replaced (now Windows XP; installation and maintenance contract with Netmakers) and I have not been able to reinstall Lilimath as I do not have administrator rights. Netmakers is unable to do it. After talking nonsense, "they" have realized that it worked well on XP and that there seems to be something missing on their computers... I am still waiting... 2 more months!
For your information, a year ago, I was even able to install it on Vista without any problem (MSI laptop) but since I've had these problems at college, I made the mistake of uninstalling it to review the procedure and I can no longer reinstall it...
Good luck then!
If this can help narrow down the procedure of finding the problem...
