Hello all,
I have a little problem actually! >< I bought a mat, so I installed the game StepMania... but when I plug in the mat it says "USB device not recognized," I've tried every little port but it doesn't work ><'
So I'm thinking it might be my PC, but... how do I play then? :(
Do I need to install something for the mat to be recognized?
Please help me... :( Thanks in advance

Hi Saby.
I have the same problem as you and I wanted to know if you solved it.
Thanks in advance. -
Hello,
it may not be the mat's fault
at home it's recognized without problems on the classic Windows XP and it is not recognized on Windows XP Media Center...
That said, have you properly installed the mat's driver (usually EMS USB2)? If not, google EMS USB 2 vista and you will find the manufacturer's site with downloadable drivers...

I have the same problem! My carpet is natively USB so normally there is no need for a driver. I tried it on my Vista PC and on my friend's Vista PC as well, and in both cases, the device is not recognized. What should I do???

Hi,
try connecting the mats while the computer is off, turn it on, let it boot.
Then, and only then, launch Stepmania and go to "options" to configure the keys (you only do this once)
after that, all you have to do is dance! -
Hello, I would like to know if this is an Xbox 360 pad? I am also looking for a pad for my PC but I can't find one :( I have an adapter for PS2 pads but I haven't bought the pad yet and I am thinking of returning the adapter because I often read that it has issues with adapters... I would rather try with the Xbox 360 pad.

I'm bringing the subject back up to say that I found a solution.
- I bought a powered USB hub (since I'm on a PC and therefore using USB, the mats were not sufficiently powered)
- In the device manager (right-click on Computer --> Manage --> Device Manager), I disabled the USB device corresponding to my mat and then reactivated it.
It works very well with Stepmania 5 and 3.9.
The only downside is that you have to repeat the process every time you restart the PC, but it only takes 5 minutes.
