Hello, I bought a Neo external hard drive that has been working very well until now.
I added movies to my hard drive and connected it to the TV. It turned on and nothing else appeared. Neither in the "movies" file nor in "music" nor in "folders"... The word "ROOT" is displayed but the list of movies has disappeared. I then reconnected the hard drive to the computer and everything is there!!!
After trying the operation several times and connecting the hard drive to several TVs, the problem is the same. I do not understand this failure that occurred overnight. Especially since the device has not been guaranteed for a month (:,)
HELP !!!!
Thank you for your response.

Problèmes divers :
- Case, remote control and power adapter of very very low quality (buttons on the case get stuck, shabby remote, etc...
---> Repair the buttons on the case with glue + silicone + cardboard support...
---> Remote control irreparable due to positioning issue of the 2 batteries... Possibility to buy a new remote control through technical support (Price: €7.90)
---> Loose power adapter plug, do not fully insert the plug into the case... or resolder this plug inside the case... :)
- Formatting in NTFS or FAT32 does not solve any file display issues in TV mode
---> Files need to be copied (in PC mode) and not moved (also works on itself, meaning I copy the file to be viewed into another directory one by one)
---> Try moving all files directly to the root of the hard drive (ROOT), with NO directory
- Character recognition problem (punctuation) (blocks access to TV mode or does not display files on the hard drive in TV mode)
--> Remove punctuation (é, à,...) and shorten filenames that are too long
- Problem recognizing certain video files (blocks access to TV mode or does not display files on the hard drive in TV mode)
---> Identify and delete the offending file
- No updated firmware found (Current version: MT_35_P6_12_01 (2007/07/17))
--> Call to technical support today: NO FIRMWARE UPDATE
- Hard drive recognition problem
--> Change the jumper to MASTER or CABLE SELECT (CS) mode
--> Do not set to SLAVE
- To properly maintain this piece of junk, here are the steps to follow:
USING IN TV MODE
Device off...
1. Must disconnect the USB cable!!!
2. Connect the AUDIO and VIDEO cables to the TV
3. Turn on the case
USING IN USB HARD DISK MODE
Device off...
1. Connect the USB cable to the PC
2. The hard drive will automatically turn on...
3. Copy your movies (do not move, avoid long names and special characters)
4. Properly disconnect the hard drive from the PC (Remove the device via Windows...)
5. Remove the USB cable
6. The hard drive will then automatically turn off...
Here’s a little recap on this product, which deserves to be recognized as a beautiful piece of junk that one must learn to tame!
Moreover...
- The firmware is the microcode of the media box (So NOTHING to do with the hard drive itself)
cf. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firmware
- There is no driver for the media box... The driver is managed natively by WinXP-VISTA-7, the box is then recognized as a standard USB hard drive
See you soon...

Hello, same here but since almost the beginning; it worked for a week and then nothing, I also have the word ROOT displayed and when I connect it to my PC, everything is there. The downside for me is that I lost the receipt so no warranty for the store. I bought it online. I'm looking for a driver to be able to reconfigure everything hoping that it works.
I'm sharing the firmware I have for the KEOPS V551 HDD; I don't know how to install it, but hopefully, it helps you anyway.

Yes, it’s resolved; I had indeed read on many sites that it needed to be switched to FAT32. None of that was necessary for me; it remained in its original format. We transferred all the files to my PC's hard drive to completely clear the Neo and then I did the reverse procedure and replaced the movies and photos. And oh miracle, everything works now!
Well there you go; in fact, I didn't format anything but simply removed my data from the hard drive. I temporarily placed them on my PC and then moved them back to the Neo, and I have no more problems. I "dragged" them from the PC to the Neo. I had read that it was a problem with the format 32, etc... but in any case, it works for me without modifying the original content of the Neo at all.
Think about formatting your multimedia hard drive on your PC to FAT32 and then putting your folders on it, and it will work. There you go.
Hello, I have an external hard drive Neo v551. It was working perfectly, but now when I plug in the drive, it makes the USB connection sound, but it won't power up!
I took the hard drive apart and it works fine in my PC tower, but it's not being detected in the Neo case anymore! :(
Who can help me!

Hello. For those who have entered files in the Keops v551 and they are not displayed on the screen, or if they disappear from the folder in which they are located, the reason is that the format is not supported by the multimedia player. It is sufficient to remove it and re-encode it in an appropriate format, then put it back in the player and the problem will be resolved. (The formats supported by the machine can be found in a list included in the installation CD.)
