Hello,

I have a big problem with Megavideo, I load a video and about halfway through the buffering stops and the playback bar shows a fully loaded video, but as soon as I reach the point where the loading was interrupted, the video stops!!
I only have this problem with Megavideo, it's strange, and my internet connection doesn't drop, there are no other problems, just this, so if someone has the answer to this problem, please let me know because I'm stuck here and it's pretty annoying!!!!!
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

To avoid waiting for Mega Video, you need to clear your history and delete the cookies, then unplug your box and plug it back in. Wait for your internet connection to return, refresh your page, and there you go, no need to wait 72 minutes, just 3 to 5 little minutes.

Otherwise, for the comments, change the software or "it's crap." I've never seen anywhere that it could help anyone except misleading those who are looking for solutions by seeing that we answered the original question.

Indeed, Mega Video is also very slow for me on movies and certain series, but for certain episodes or whole series, it poses absolutely no problem; my bandwidth works like a charm.

Thanks for those following; if you find a solution, I would be honestly delighted.

Good evening.

It's really a joke, this and the damn BUFFERING VIDEO every 15 seconds, it's truly unbearable. I don't mind being bombarded with ads, but having a decent service behind it is the least we should expect!!!

It's clear, it's a real mess this video buffering. Do you have any sites that load videos quickly?

The real bullshit lies in the fact that you comfortably and especially for free watch movies thanks to this site, and that for a few unfortunate minutes of forced waiting in your oh-so-thrilling life you’re giving us a hard time, man!

It is fairly well-known that Megavideo has a habit of limiting the bandwidth of non-subscribers. This, along with the overload due to traffic, makes it simply the slowest streaming site in the world, virus or not.

I tested by downloading a file outside of the player provided on the site, and my bandwidth averaged 20 KB/s and was practically entirely free for other internet activities (I can go up to 65 at most).

Illimitux can address the bugs on the Megavideo player itself, but as for the bandwidth, it remains the same.

If we add to that the fact that many uploaders do not compress their videos much, it is not uncommon to find a 30-minute video of 300 MB to watch in streaming at 20 KB/s of bandwidth...

Hello,
I think I have the same problem.
It turns out that all the sites offering streaming episodes of series go through megavideo.
I don't trust this software, but I have no choice if I want to watch these videos for free and without being illegal...
It seems that the video is loading (the buffering shows in gray and stays there for the entire duration of the episode), but it says "buffering 0%" and doesn't load.
Which is completely stupid (excuse my language) because the episode is fully loaded and I have no interruptions in my internet connection... I've tried refreshing the page or restarting the computer (which I know won't change anything, but I'm trying anyway).
Is this the same explanation (is megavideo really that bad?) or is there another explanation?
Thank you for your hypotheses or answers.

I have exactly the same problem. I can only see the beginning of the video and then it stops. It shows "buffering 0%" and the loading bar is full. Impossible to restart the video.
I tried refreshing the page without success. The loading starts normally and then interrupts.
Has anyone found a solution??

I allow myself to post this message because like many of you, I have searched for a long time for an effective solution that would allow me to watch movies on Megavideo without time limits.
Here is my solution.. I hope it will be useful to you as it has been for me..

First thing:

When Megavideo tells you that you have exceeded the allowed time limit, depending on your browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox..), use the options tab and click on a button titled "clear my traces" or "delete recent history" without forgetting to check the COOKIES box and then apply the changes by clicking on OK or apply.

Second thing:

I inform you that contrary to what many users recommend, it is absolutely not necessary to unplug the router to bypass the time limit. You simply need to go to your router's URL, enter your username and password, access the configuration tab, and find the page that allows you to restart your connection. A button is usually accessible on one of the pages depending on your router model.

Once these two things have been applied, all you have to do is refresh the page of your video and restart it at the moment when the time limit was announced..

Hoping to have responded in a sufficiently clear manner, I say see you soon..

Same for me, for the past three days, the videos only last 30 minutes while showing the 72-minute limit! It's honestly starting to annoy me!

Currently, MegaVideo is strengthening itself after the "+++" bug and now Illimitux; let's just say that MegaVideo is doing everything to avoid (or even completely eliminate) the scam, if I may say so.

So basically, for the past few weeks, Illimitux has been useless, and even less practical. While waiting for Illimitux to bypass MegaVideo again, don't uncap the link and watch via MegaVideo (and not through Illim'), that way at least... you'll see your 72 minutes!

For others, I have just one piece of advice: after 72 minutes, read a little or I don't know... maybe take a break from your PC... It's not harmful and... we should be happy to have everything on MegaVideo, so come on, 50 minutes of waiting... It's not the end of the world.

By the way, we can unplug the box to change the IP, but not with Free.

Avoid various uTorrent or any other downloads while watching videos. I can handle 3 pages of MV at the same time and it works out fine =)

Try Mozilla Firefox 3.5, it works for me.

Yeah, it’s all good, with Firefox, it’s 72 minutes and not a minute less.
Thanks!

I tested Illimitux, it's not perfect but it's way better than Mégavidéo!!! Plus, it's really simple! Okay, there are a few flaws but I found two advantages:
First, no limitations, which will help you not to mess up your router by unplugging it all the time.
Second, it significantly reduces the amount of constant "Buffering", it still happens sometimes but it's really fast and at least the bar loads much quicker; in less than 10 minutes of waiting, you've got more than a quarter of the bar loaded. And if that's not the case, at least the video doesn't stop every second to show you the stressful "Video Buffering"
(Oh yeah, the advantage is that the percentage is below the bar and doesn't block the image so it’s less stressful XD)
Another tip to optimize and help the software, delete your cookies and close your downloading programs (especially Emule and Limewire which are really server slowdowns!) Don’t hesitate to reset your internet connection once to really optimize loading speed.
I repeat, it's not perfect yet but honestly it's better than waiting over 3 hours for your video when with Illimitux it really shortens the time, even if it’s still a little long but you have to deal with it!!
There you go, hoping it works for everyone.
See you later!

I have a tip that works like a charm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just arrive on your page (especially for a movie) and copy and paste the address URL on itself and the video will work normally. I've been using this technique for 2 months and it works 9 times out of 10.

I'm having a problem too, guys. I don't even get the full 72 minutes for free: like after 20 or 30 minutes, it already hits me with the 72 limit. In the end, I have to wait 2 hours to watch an episode. Is there any fix or problem with my computer that's causing this issue??

Hello, personally I've never had a problem with Megavideo; the videos load well even with limited bandwidth, but for the past two or three days, the videos take hours to load even though my connection works fine.

I have the same problem, bandwidth at 2MB/s, and videos that take almost 4 hours to load only on Megavideo.

As for the limitation,
download Unlimited (for Firefox) and all your problems will be solved,
faster than restarting the box, which in my case takes 10 minutes ^^

I downloaded and installed illimitux and at first there were no problems, it was working.
For the past few weeks, even with illimitux, I can no longer watch a video in full.
Let me explain: I go to the megavideo link, the bubble opens at the bottom of my screen, I remove the limitation and start watching the video, so far nothing unusual... and that's where it gets complicated, hehehe, after about 30 minutes the video cuts off... and I can't watch the rest.

At first, I thought it was a connection or download bug, but no, I keep refreshing the page and restarting the video, it cuts off every time after about 30 minutes.

Does anyone have any idea on how to fix the problem???

Thanks in advance ;)

The use of Megavideo itself is not illegal, but watching a video in streaming of protected content (movies, series, etc...) is perfectly illegal... All videos viewed on the internet are always stored on your computer in the temporary files of your browser, so for a movie, you indeed have an illegal copy of that movie on your computer.

So for those who use Megavideo to avoid being in violation...

Taking a subscription to Megavideo is a scam, the bandwidth allocated (download speed) is exactly the same for a premium account or not!! Those who have taken a premium account can confirm this to you.

Otherwise, for those who have a problem with watching more than 72 minutes of video, simply reset your IP address. It’s very simple by entering this IP in your browser: http://192.168.1.1/ you will access the page of your Livebox, there is a button to reset the connection (thus your IP). This allows you to reset your connection in just 2 seconds instead of one to several minutes with the “physical” button of the Livebox. Note that clearing cookies is useless for Megavideo.

Megavideo is a company based in Hong Kong, that’s why it is currently not being pursued by justice; in China, they don’t care much about “intellectual property”...

Watching a video in streaming is not illegal.
Morally, that's where it falls short. However, the private copying exception can very well legitimize the act of watching in streaming (I leave it to you to read article L122-5 3° of the Intellectual Property Code). There is a legal void that will surely be filled, but I don’t think a judge will condemn someone for watching a stream.

The main problem is that there is no legal offer with content in a model like Spotify. The day they release a monthly subscription for €10 with almost all existing content and top-quality audio, things should start to change.

I'm sorry, but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon given how things are going right now. I see it more as an increasingly large attempt at control over time.
