Bonjour, here are the basic smilies, the most common ones, universally known on the Net.
:-) Your basic smiley, the smiling one, used to indicate a sarcastic or humorous undertone, since
you can't hear the inflections of voice over the network. If you don't understand, tilt your head to the
left side...
;-) The wink, for sarcastic remarks "don't hit me for what I just said."
:-( A frowning smiley. We didn't like what was just said, or we are sad.
:-I Indifferent smiley. It's better than a frown, but not as good as a smile.
:-> I just made a very biting remark (worse than a ":-)").
