Printing family tree

Hello,
I just created my family tree, but I'm having a problem with printing. I'm left with a strip of 1.20 m by 8 or 9 m. I would like to reduce the size of the tree to about 1m by 2m. How should I do that? I went to see a printer with a PDF format of my tree, but it's in the form of 170 pages to print. He is asking me to give it to him as one page, but I can't fit 170 pages onto one without an issue with the writing! My question is: how can I transform an A4 print format into an A0 format when A4 is the maximum format offered to me? (My software is: Le Généalogiste 2007) Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Windows XP Firefox 2.0.0.16

Hello,

I had a similar problem, and I solved it by using "wintree".

It allows you to print at a customizable length and manages the printing according to the dimensions you define.

The elements to be included are also customizable. It is easy to use, accepts the gedcom format

and offers the possibility to export the file in jpg format as well.

Good luck with the rest!

Hello Kallagan,

for your issue, the answer is simple, you just need to have a graphic designer friend!
with image software, he can "piece" together the parts of your tree. your printer could have offered you this service, for a fee... that can hurt.

I am also passionate about genealogy, but honestly, the price of the family tree posters from the websites mentioned above is a bit hard on the wallet...

if you have limited resources or, like me, a large family that loves to have a nice gift at Christmas, go to www.clicpostal.com the posters are in "mélange" (well, you have to click around in the top bars to get there). they have a tree with lots of photos to add! I've looked everywhere and I only found it there.
if you have good addresses, please share them.

I had a similar problem with my family tree on my software... so I contacted Génégraphy, I don't remember which one; they replied to me and I was able to print my tree on quality paper. The great gift for my grandmother's 80th birthday!

There is a website -paid- that seems to be able to bring together all the members of the same family on a single (mixed) tree and print it:

http://www.wellbert-genealogie.fr

you can see an example with more than 500 people on it.

Hello,
I just printed my family tree with passion-genealogie.fr.
They sell the Générama which allows you to present 10 complete ascending generations in less than 1m2, and in a very readable way.
I’m thrilled with it, and my family, who has been able to admire it, wants a copy.
The blank version to fill in by hand is also available.

It's worth checking out:

Génégraphy (www.genegraphy.com) offers a luxury printing service for personalized trees of over 6 generations. I discovered this company through a mutual friend who is an avid genealogist... I saw the scroll containing 10 generations... stunning! Good luck!

Hello,

I recommend www.familleunie.fr.

I ordered my tree not long ago and it's beautiful work:

https://www.myheritage.fr

At first, I wasn't very confident, but in the end, I sent an email for more information and they are really nice.

In case the poster order doesn't interest you, you can always order a PDF file of it and then print it at a professional printer for about twenty euros.

Gedcom file import is possible, so you can have your tree in just a few clicks :-)

Good luck.
