How to type the backslash?

Hello,

I just installed DOSBox to be able to "mount" files to play Conquest of the New World.

The DOSBox interface looks like the command prompt. I need to type backslashes, like this " \ ", in order to mount and tell it where to find the files.

Please, I've been going crazy for an hour trying to type this " \ "; I have no idea how to do it, and at the same time, I'm not very familiar with DOSBox, I've always used Deamon before.

I have a Canadian QWERTY keyboard with the backslash key at the top left under the escape key. On the backslash key, there is a vertical bar and the hash symbol. Normally to get the backslash, I type Alt Gr + \, but that doesn't work in DOSBox.

However, I notice that when I type "|" (the vertical bar which corresponds to a SHIFT+#, the same key as \) in DOSBox, it gives me ~ instead of |

I await your suggestions, thank you.

(PS: yes of course I have tried the combinations shift, ctrl, Alt Gr, Alt 92... one key pressed, multiple...)
